For this assignment, you will be required to write a 2-3 page (double-spaced) character analysis on a main character from the book “The Rent Collector” written by Cameron Wright.

You will write about the traits of your chosen character. Remember, traits of a character are revealed through what a character says, thinks, and does. As you read the book, you were asked to think about what the character says, thinks, and does – what do these words, thoughts, and actions say about the character? You were asked to make notes in your text and/or on a separate sheet of paper as you moved through the text so you could provide textual evidence in your analysis. For example, it is not enough to simply say that your chosen character is brave. You must PROVIDE EVIDENCE of this bravery through what the character says, thinks, does. You can provide evidence in the form of direct quotes and/or paraphrases from the text.
You must also discuss if your character is a static character or a dynamic character. Does your character change by the end of the story? If not, why do you think they did not change? If so, how did the character change? So, you will have the introduction, three body paragraphs (each one will discuss a character trait), a paragraph about whether your character is dynamic or static (consider questions above as you write this paragraph, and a conclusion.
Your introduction should contain background information about the story, but be sure that you are not giving TOO MUCH background because the focus of the essay is character analysis, not book summary.

Write a book report on Jane McAlevey’s book, No Shortcuts: Organizing for Power in the New Gilded Age. Your book report should be 8-9 typed pages long (double-spaced, one-inch margins). Overall, your book report should focus on the central argument(s) (thesis) of the book followed by a thorough description of evidence presented in the book to back up the author’s claims. In the introduction of the book report, you will identify the author’s thesis and explain it in your own words. You will include a brief introduction of the topic or the summary of the book to provide a meaningful context for the thesis statement. In your Introduction you will also tell the reader the three distinct pieces of evidence or cases—that is, the three chapters from McAlevey, each one is a case—that you will analyze in your report.

In the next section you will analyze the evidence—the three cases. In these sections you will provide a review of the case and in the process you will engage the author’s central argument, and argue whether the evidence she has provided supports—or does not support—her central claim. You are also encouraged to bring in other concepts and theories we have used throughout the semester—such as disruption—and show how they help illuminate the case.

In the conclusion, provide an overall assessment of the evidence the author provided and whether it backs up the thesis.

In this assignment, you will demonstrate your understanding of the Christian worldview, including the main topics you have covered up to this point. Christian Foundation: Summarize how the concepts of the gospel essentials (nature of God, nature of humanity, nature of Jesus, and restoration) constitute the foundation of the Christian worldview. In other words, how are these concepts essential to the Christian worldview?

Analysis of the Implications of the Christian Worldview: Based on the previous five prompts, analyze the implications of the Christian worldview by addressing each of the following questions:
What are the benefits or strengths of the Christian worldview as it relates to human value and dignity?
Compare the Christian concept of salvation in contrast to any other worldview perspective.
How does the Christian worldview influence a person’s thinking and behavior?
What do people find troublesome or confusing about Christianity and why?
Conclusion: Synthesize the main points, pulling the ideas of the paper together.

Academic conduct notice
Harvard-style referencing needs to be used consistently throughout. Incomplete referencing shall result in reporting the case to the Academic Conduct Officer, who keeps a record of such violations.
