A firewall is a device that prevents unauthorized access to a host or a network either from within the corporate environment or from the public network, such as the Internet.

Generally, there are two types of firewalls:

A hardware firewall takes the form of a closed proprietary appliance with its own operating system.

A software firewall is installed on a computer, and it utilizes the computer’s operating system.

Question #1: After you finish this session’s reading, read the opening two sections of Sen’s chapter 10 carefully (this was notpart of your assigned reading on purpose). In light of what you noticed in the assigned reading, consider what Sen (in chapter 10) describes should happen in the debate between Arjuna (the military leader) and his charioteer (the god Krishna in disguise).
Krishna advises Arjuna he should just do his duty, which is to fight and win the battle. According to Krishna, Arjuna should not worry about the consequences of the battle (people/relatives/friends suffering and dying). Sen argues that there is a problem with Krishna’s argument and that Arjuna should think about the harm and suffering the battle will cause. Do you agree with Sen? Why or why not? Can ordinary soldiers disobey orders if they think the harm or suffering will be too great? What about military leaders?

During the first half of the course, we surveyed the history of philosophy to study moral theories that answer normative questions about right and wrong, and found utilitarian, deontological, and other families of answers. In the second half of the course, we applied that theoretical foundation to contemporary problems in the world, such as capital punishment, world hunger, and animal rights. And of course during the entire thing, you worked to improve your peers’ understanding of these topics, and had your own writing peer reviewed. I did the topic on healthcare. My thesis is that healthcare, universally, should be affordable and accessible to everyone, to maximize happiness for all, as it is their right to have. What surprised me while doing the research for this topic is the amount of people are uninsured in America and the death rate that we have compared to other countries, considering that we have all the technology we need in order to help everyone. I didn’t exactly make any assumptions because we already read the chapter and learned on it. But i did think maybe other countries would have spent more money in healthcare compared to the old data in the book but the change wasn’t drastic and America still is the most expensive. I could include charts and graphs on the healthcare data of each developed country compared to America‘s so people can better understand the advantages and disadvantages of the healthcare system in each country.
