4.1 Narrative therapy

5.1. Case Example: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

In this discussion question you will return to the MACP Skills Learning Lab and use the case study that you chose in Unit 1 for this discussion post. For this discussion question address the following as CBT Therapist:

How might you conceptualize this family, using a cognitive-behavioural approach?
What steps should you take to culturally adapt CBT interventions for your case example?

5.2. Learning Reflections: Putting It All Together

How do you see yourself incorporating some of the theories we have covered in this course? For example, can you imagine using some of the Gottman Model by itself, and/or integrated into another theory? How might you use specific couple/family therapy interventions in your future practice? Even for those who do not plan to practice couple or family therapy, how will you incorporate an understanding of family systems thinking into your individual work?

For this assignment, you will complete an essay discussing the following:

Identify an emerging terrorist environment (transnational crime, anti-colonialism, left- or right-wing movements).
Assess any risks associated with your selected terrorist environment.
Identify any mitigation efforts either planned or underway by authorities to eliminate these terror risks.
