Social Perception: Try to pay attention to all of the times during a 24 hour period that you make a judgment about another person. NOTE: Do not describe a situation when you think someone made a judgment about you, rather we want to hear about an attribution you made about another person.

3. Begin your first draft. Write an engaging introductory paragraph by introducing your subject with a fun fact or unique description. Write a sentence or two briefly presenting what each subsequent paragraph will be describing in further detail. Finish the introduction with a sentence explaining what makes your subject such an interesting character study.
4. Write the body of your essay. Include all of the fascinating tidbits you’ve discovered in your reading, as well as important facts, dates or figures revolving around your subject. In other words, say everything in the shortest way possible. Using extra words because you think they’re “big” words or trying to make your essay sound more intelligent will instead make the essay feel phony and confusing. Remember that writing a biography essay can be educational in that you can learn a great deal about someone as you grow as a writer.
Tip: Avoid standard opening lines such as, “Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809 and died in 1865.” You can include his birth and death later in the body of your essay. Your essay should reflect your thoughtful response to something you have learned in the readings or in class.

In his preface to Caleb Williams, Godwin situates his novel in the context of the contemporary discussion about political and social reform, to which his treatise Political Justice had been an important contribution. How are the principles and ideas Godwin presents in Political Justice represented in Caleb Williams? How does Godwin’s novel (“things as they are”) realize, complicate, or question his philosophical and political ideas (“things as they ought to be”)?
