In this assignment, you will continue writing about your ongoing research topic, but you will modify it to meet the various formatting and style needs of a typical opinion article for a local publication. This does not mean that you can just take a 2,000-word paper and cut off 1,000 words; instead, you must demonstrate that you have made careful choices to revise your more academic writing to fit another medium targeted toward a different audience.
This assignment requires you to:
Determine a local publication to which you will write your Opinion Article. This is likely to be your hometown daily newspaper; however, you may also have a local alternative newspaper that you could use as your target publication. For example, in Asheville, NC, the daily newspaper is the Asheville Citizen Times (Links to an external site.), while the weekly alternative newspaper is the Mountain Xpress (Links to an external site.). Either choice would be viable for this assignment. While you are encouraged to submit your opinion article to the publication, this is not a requirement. For this assignment, simply prepare your article as if you are writing to a very direct audience: the editor and readers of a local publication. So your instructor knows your target audience, begin your article with the heading “Written toward [insert name of news publication here]:”
Determine the style, tone, level of formality, etc. that is typical for that publication. Do this by reviewing and reading articles from the publication with particular attention to the Opinion/Editorial or Letter to the Editor sections.
Analyze the target audience for the publication, and consider how their needs dictate the writing choices you will make. This means you need to consider the backgrounds, beliefs, values, etc. of the people who are in your town or community. Think of ways you can make connections with them in your writing.
Write an Opinion Article of between 700 – 1000 words using the same topic you’ve been researching all quarter.
Use APA format- it is likely that the publication you choose will not use APA format; however, since learning APA is a key component of this class, we will continue to use it here. If you do decide to submit for publication, be sure to consult publication guidelines and use the reference style specified.

Stress and Its Effect on the Brain and Body. Excessive human stress is widely regarded as a contributing factor to, or a cause of, numerous physical and mental diseases. This topic requires you to address the neurobiological mechanisms associated with the stress response, and how the brain responds to stress. In particular, you will need to identify how stress hormones can impede the well-being and normal functioning of the brain. Further, this topic should include an examination of the effects of stress on the functioning of specific brain structures such as the hippocampus, prefrontal cortex, and/or amygdala.

Part 1: 1 proposal/Outline page paper on the topic.

Part 2: 12 to 15 double-spaced wordprocessed pages. Note that this does not include title pages, reference pages, figures, and appendices. If you do not know a person that you could interview, you can take this option of analyzing a film character. Here are the instructions.
Choose a film that has at least one major character who have some kind of mental disorder. Provide a very brief synopsis of the movie (no more than one paragraph).
Identify the disorder and describe the symptoms. (Use Chapter 1:The problem of Mental Disorder; Chapter 3:Acting Mentally Disordered)
What is/are the cause(s) of that disorder? Explain the causes based on the 5 models you learned in class. Which model explains the disorder best? What treatment would work best for that person? (If you see a particular treatment being already used for treating that person, identify which of the 5 models advocate that particular treatment). Apply at least one sociological perspective (theory) to explain the cause(s) of that illness? (Use Chapter 5: Mental Disorder as Deviant Behavior)
Describe the character’s socioeconomic and demographic background. Based on what we learned in the class, how are these characteristics associated with his/her mental illness? Do you see support for the facts we learned? Justify with examples. (Use Chapter 7: Social Class; Chapter 8: Age, Gender, and Marital Status)
If this person is a minority, then how our understanding of the association of race and mental illness helps you to explain his/her experiences of mental illness? If that person is not a minority, write how the experiences of mental illness could have been different for that person if he/she were a minority. (Use Chapter 10: Race)
Describe that character’s help seeking behavior. Does he/she seek care or not? Why? Was he/she coerced? What was the family member’s role in this help seeking process? (Use Chapter 11: Help-seeking Behavior; Chapter 12: The Mental Hospital)

Attachment Theory
Do childhood attachment patterns influence behaviors in adulthood? Explore childhood attachment and its effects on adult behavior, potentially including romantic relationships and effects on parenting.

Hi! I’m looking for someone who can help me write my whole Chemistry Master’s thesis.

I’m currently doing research on chacone derivatives to treat Glioblastoma (GBM).
I made a draft of the table of contents of my thesis (attached).

What to Do
While we cover much of the textbook, American Cinema, American Culture, during the semester several chapters dealing with specific genres are overlooked. This unit allows you to delve into one of these chapters:

So for this unit read pp. 113-115 which offer a background on different genres and then choose one of the chapters listed previously to closely examine. Then read thoroughly that chapter.

• In a summary of 400-450 words, highlight the most important points of the chapter to you. Include specifics from the textbook in your summary.
• Write five multiple choice questions which emphasize five different important items from the chapter. Provide the answers
• Select a film of your choice that fits well with the chapter, and explain your rationale for choosing that film .

We’ve
all be through it, but there is no doubt that the adolescent experience
changes with time. Youth culture is a very complex aspect of

you work with teenagers and struggle to keep up with their language,
now might be a good opportunity to research teenage slang.

final paper should be no less than six pages in length (double-spaced
with one inch margins) and must include the following:

An opening paragraph that introduces your topic and includes the reason(s) why you selected your topic.

Your textbook cannot be one of these sources. References can include
