This week, you are to create a written script and a two-part vlog where you interact with the main themes of the OT presented in the lecture. First, create a written script to address the questions in Part 2 and Part 3. Then record your videos and submit the links to complete this assignment.
Part 1: Create a written script for both vlog entries.

Part 2: Film a 5-10-minute video, articulating what you find to be the two most interesting themes that weave through the OT.

Address the following:

What are the themes?
Where do you find them in the OT?
How are they important in their own right?

Part 3: Film a 5-10-minute video

Based on what you’ve learned so far in the course, how do the themes you chose fit into the greater OT storyline?

Write an alternative ending for either one of these three films ( Pirogue 2012, Timbuktu 2014, or Zulu Love Letter 2004). What you will do is pick one of these films and write a different ending, while you have the absolute freedom to change the ending, don’t change the characters or the main theme of the film.
You are expected to present your perspectives in about 500 words. This assignment is designed as a reflective response to the topics we have been discussing in class, so you can present your own twist when it comes to the plot or climax of the film.
Grading Points:
Alternate Ending: 300-350 words (3 points)
Justification for the new ending: 150-200 words (2 points)

Drawing on their field placement experiences, students will identify at least one population, one policy and one program model for their analysis. Identify a population that has been historically oppressed
(e.g., unaccompanied minors, older youth, LGBT youth, African-American youth,) by any component of the child welfare system and document this oppression.
Part 2: Policy
Evaluate the policies (e.g., Indian Child Welfare Act, Children’s Bureau’s/ DCF’s administrative regulations, CWLA Best Practice Guidelines) that attempt to reverse this oppression
Part 3: Program Model
Analyze the program models (e.g., family preservation models, transitional Independent Living Services) that purport to bring much-needed services to this population in a culturally-competent manner.
Part 4: Critique
Recommend any policies and/ or conceptual program models that might promote equity by improving child welfare services for this population
