It is estimated that by 2030 there will be a physician shortage of approximately 120,000 physicians in the US. Lack of residency opportunities is one factor that has contributed to slow growth in the supply of physicians. Two contributing factors of demand in healthcare are a rise in the U.S. population and the aging population base. The U.S. population is expected to grow to 360 million people in 2030 and the age of people over 65 years is estimated to comprise 50 percent of the new growth. Not only will the patient demographics be skewed towards the geriatric population, but medical services will need to be geared towards this aging population. To take things a step further, the physicians who currently make up a vast majority of the physician workforce today will be retiring by 2030. These conditions will contribute to widening the gap between patients and their access to physicians that provide healthcare services.
There have been several suggestions or corrective actions being offered in an attempt navigate away from the impending crisis. Some have called for allowing allied health professionals such as physician assistants and nurse practitioners to take on more patient responsibility within medical practices. Other medical support services, such as nutritionists/dietitians, medical social workers, and pharmacists might also be interwoven to a healthcare team that would help to maintain proper levels of medical service. There may also be other important components that are impacting patient demand and service supply availability.

Business Model Canvas
The elevator pitch was a success! Senior management believes they made the right choice in giving you the title of CIO and putting you in charge of seizing new opportunities in the marketplace.
Scenario
While the pitch conveyed your good idea, it was just that: an idea. You now have to test the feasibility of your idea. However, before you create a complete business model canvas (BMC), you want to quickly identify key elements needed to take your product or service idea to market.
In doing so, you will assume that all components of the BMC are at the fingertips of your project team. For example, you will have to work with the marketing and sales departments, and perhaps outside vendors and suppliers, to promote, advertise, and sell the product or service.
The Business Model Canvas Template you complete in this assignment will serve as the groundwork for the more detailed PowerPoint slide deck you will create in Milestone Two. As with any well-executed project, a former project manager experienced in such product-to-market initiatives has agreed to assess your complete BMC slide deck, which you will submit in Module Five.
Prompt
For this assignment, consider the company you have selected and the work you have completed so far to further your business idea. Then, complete the Business Model Canvas Template linked in the Guidelines for Submission section with your assumptions about the key activities for your business idea, product, or service. Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
Value proposition: Complete the Value Proposition building block by describing the value of your business idea, such as the customer need you are satisfying or the problem you are solving.
Front-stage considerations: Outline the segments related to your potential customers, which include the Customer Segments, Channels, and Customer Relationship building blocks.
Back-stage considerations: Make initial assumptions about how your business will work. This includes completing the Key Activities, Key Resources, and Key Partnership building blocks.
Financial considerations: Make reasonable assumptions about the segments that will inform your profit projections. These include the Cost Structure and Revenue Stream building blocks.
Guidelines for Submission
Complete and submit the Business Model Canvas Template PPT. Any sources cited should use APA formatting.
Based on your reading of the entire Declaration of Independence, in what circumstances do citizens (really the “people”) take the action the duty requires of them?
Question #1: In the Declaration of Independence, a single “duty” is imposed on the people who are declaring themselves to be independent. We are not accustomed today to talk about the duties of citizens—we usually speak only about their “rights.” That citizens might have “duties” as well as rights is an extremely unusual sentiment to express.
What is this singular duty? Based on your reading of the entire Declaration of Independence, in what circumstances do citizens (really the “people”) take the action the duty requires of them?
If justice is defined by the political regime under which people live (a common view today), how can taking the action required by the “duty” listed in the Declaration possibly be considered “just”?
Question #2: In the second half of Lincoln’s Lyceum Address there is the following passage:
“Another reason which once was; but which, to the same extent, is now no more, has done much in maintaining our institutions thus far. I mean the powerful influence which the interesting scenes of the revolution had upon the passions of the people as distinguished from their judgment. By this influence, the jealousy, envy, and avarice, incident to our nature, and so common to a state of peace, prosperity, and conscious strength, were, for the time, in a great measure smothered and rendered inactive; while the deep-rooted principles of hate, and the powerful motive of revenge, instead of being turned against each other, were directed exclusively against the British nation. And thus, from the force of circumstances, the basest principles of our nature, were either made to lie dormant, or to become the active agents in the advancement of the noblest cause–that of establishing and maintaining civil and religious liberty.”
“But this state of feeling must fade, is fading, has faded, with the circumstances that produced it.”
According to the rest of the Lyceum Address, when these powerful passions are not directed outwardly (as they were at the British during the Revolutionary War, or at the Soviet Union during the Cold War), what can happen to a country like the United States? What will be the condition of the country, and who will take advantage of this situation?
Question #3( 5-7 sentences): Discuss something
that has sparked your interest in the readings.
Social Movements: Art and Raising Awareness
Imagine putting yourself in the position of learning cultural appreciation and understanding for a selected population of a social movement of your choice.
Banksy incorporates two social movements with his appropriation of Les Miserable’s orphaned girl to a Syrian refugee girl with tears. Banksy is raising awareness of refugee status and police brutality (tear gassing).

“Banksy paints the famous image of the young orphaned girl ‘Cosette’ from Les Misérables with tear gas being let off into her eyes. The piece represents the Victims camping in the Calais Jungle, and where tear gas is allegedly being used to clear the camp by the French authorities, another message Banksy is sharing to the world about the poor conditions the refugees are facing” (Haden 2016) https://www.graffitistreet.com/banksy-hits-the-french-embassy-with-tears-in-his-eyes/ (Links to an external site.).
