Deviance Essay

Deviance is one of my favorite subjects. As we learn in chapter 7, deviance is not necessarily criminal, but simply a violation of contextual norms. For this assignment, I want you to tell me two stories. First: tell me about a time that you witnessed a deviant act. Keep in mind, in order for deviance to occur you must account for the individual committing the act, the location of the act, and the audience that witnessed the act. You need to be able to tell me all of these as well as whether this is considered a primary or secondary deviant act.

Second: I want you to tell me about a time you committed a deviant act. Again, you will need to include all the criteria from the first story (who, what, where, why it’s deviant, etc.). Again, the essay should be at least 2-3 pages

What is your earliest memory of attending a funeral or memorial service? How did it make you feel?

Fire Department Image

For this assignment, you will submit a 700 to 1000-word document that discusses how you could maintain a positive image for your department and what resources you would use (PIO, public education dept., social media, etc.).
Once you explain how you would maintain the department’s image, describe how you would address a complaint that might hold the department in a negative light in the court of public opinion.
An example could be emergency responders are driving recklessly by disregarding safety by blowing through red lights, forcing vehicles off the road, etc. while responding to emergencies. This is not uncommon; some think that once they turn the emergency lights on they are invincible.
Another example could be a rash of cases where there was poor patient care.
Feel free to come up with a situation that you would have to defend (could also be a real-world example) or address a negative incident to maintain the department’s image.
Remember, not only is it important that fire and emergency service departments project a positive image, but also to maintain the trust of the community.
Synthesize information from the course readings, supplemental assignments, and any outside references you deem appropriate (e.g., websites, government reports, journal articles, etc.). Cite your sources appropriately.

Significant Contributions to Public Health Final Assignment Part 1

This is a two-part assignment. This week, you will complete the first part of the work as defined below. In Week 5, you will continue to add to this work to complete the final project in class. Please review the Week 5 directions for the Significant Contributions to Public Health Final Assignment details, including the grading rubric, to understand the full grading criteria.

For this part of the assignment, you will create a 12-15 slide PowerPoint presentation with detailed speaker’s notes of at least 100 words for each slide, not including the title and reference slides. Global Management Perspective of Amazon

A‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌nswer the following questions in essay form: PART 1: Identify three major countries with which your chosen company operates. Preferably, the three countries are in different continents. Are these three countries members of the IMF, the World Bank, and WTO? Do you believe that these three countries actively follow guidelines of these three major international institutions? Compare the institutional structure of these three countries to determine if they promote globalization, i.e., (a) are their political institutions transparent and (b) do they have a functioning judiciary system? Do you believe that the three countries under consideration practice policies that promote globalization? For example, what are those countries’ policies toward (a) governance, (b) competitive markets, (c) property rights, and (d) corruption? Determine whether your company is a producer of goods or services. What are the major products and/ or services provided by your company? Are those outputs sold only domestically or are they also exported? Do these products and services face tariff or non-tariff barriers in the target export markets? What are the tariff rates or non-tariff barriers imposed on these items? Identify regional trading blocs with which your chosen company operates as well as the benefits that your company gains because it is part of those trading blocs. Would your company be better off under a system of multilateral trade liberalization like the WTO, or with bilateral or regional trading blocs? If you were visiting a foreign country to negotiate a transaction on behalf of this company, what cultural knowledge would you need to gain before the visit? How and from where would you get the information? PART 2: Examine the countries where your company does business according to where they rank on the Hofstede cultural dimensions. Think of some examples of how a . manager would need to modify his or her behavior when communicating with associates from one or more of these foreign countries. Does your company operate in any countries that are considered very politically or economically risky? Does your company primarily operate in civil law or common law countries? What are some of the implications of this? Has your company purchased any insurance from the Development Finance Corporations (DFC)? What are some key intellectual property protections, if any, that your company possesses? When do these protections (., patents) expire? How does your company intend to recoup lost revenues due to any patent or other intellectual property protection expirations? Find the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) score for two countries where your selected company does business, one country with a relatively high score and one country with a relatively low score. Search for news stories about corporate financial scandals in these two countries. Prepare a short summary of news stories about financial scandals in these countries. Briefly describe what you perceive are the risks of corruption, such as paying bribes, that your selected company might face in these countries. Determine your company’s mode of entry into foreign markets. This should be based upon a serious analysis of your company’s risk-return tradeoff. In your opinio‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌n, has your company taken the right approach? Does your company have an exit strategy? Recall that exit strategies are to be determined before entry into the foreign market, rather than after entry. Critically and objectively evaluate how ethical your company’s global operations are and determine if they are good corporate citizens (., do they have a well thought-out corporate social responsibility program for the long term?). What is the corporate mission statement of your target company, assuming it has one? How well do the company’s actions adhere to its stated mission? With respect to its strategy formulation, would you categorize your company as a shareholder model or a stakeholder orientation? Why? Is the company a stateless corporation? If not, is the company on its way to becoming a stateless corporation? What type of organizational structure is the company currently using? Do you think the company may benefit from a hybrid or matrix structure? Why or why not? Does your company employ expatriates in any overseas operations it might have? If so, what resources does the company provide to train expatriates before they go to the foreign location? Does the company also provide training or support for expatriates during the repatriation phase? To what extent, or in what ways, does your company use the Internet for employee training and development? What products are sold in the company’s international markets? Do they vary by country or by region? What types of promotion does your company emphasize in its international markets? Do they differ from those used in its domestic market? What kinds of distribution channels are being employed in your company’s international markets? Is the company practicing global procurement? If the company is procuring globally, what goods and services is it procuring and from which countries? Is the company practicing global production? If the company is producing globally, what goods and services are produced globally and in which countries? Has the company outsourced goods and services? Has the company insourced goods and services? Is the company a member of one or more supply chains? If yes, can you identify the major members of the supply chain(s)? In what countries does your company export goods? Import goods? How would changes in the values of these countries’ currencies relative to the . dollar affect transactions and translation risks? Economic risk? This assignment requires you to compile Parts 1, 2, and 3 into one document, which will be your final report on the global aspects of your selected company. Your report should be 8-10 content pages, not including title page or references. APA format is required, typewritten in double-spaced format (Times New Roman styles), page margins Top, Bottom, Left Side and Right Side = 1 inch, with reasonable accommodation being made for special situations and online submission variances. Business Accounting & Finance – Nvidia Value Measurement

The focus of this essay will be Nvidia, I have included a link to Nvidia’s page but their numbers will also be available in Yahoo Finance or WSJ.

https://investor.nvidia.com/financial-info/financial-reports/default.aspx
Please read the assignment brief, but it is very important to review the further guidance ppt as well. I have paid for 5 graphs, so please use 3 of those to answer Question 2 and the other two where you see fit, furthermore the assignment brief requested 2500 words but I only paid for 6 pages so do not worry about the word count in the brief as long as the 1600 I paid for are met.

SMOKE BUT NO FIRE (Convicting the Innocent of Crimes that Never Happen)

Scholarly Book Review – The final component of this course is for you to read and review:

Henry, Jessica. 2021. Smoke but no Fire: Convicting the Innocent of Crimes that Never Happened. University of California Press. ISBN: 9780520385801

For this assignment, you must cite at least five peer-reviewed articles, not books, in your review. Your scholarly book review must be between 3,000 to 3,500 words. For this assignment, you need to do more than merely provide a synopsis of the book. Rather, provide a scholarly analysis of the book and explain what, if anything, it contributes to our understanding of the criminal justice system. Important: Please do not quote any sources verbatim for such a short assignment. Instead, paraphrase the information in your own words and cite the source. And, be sure you cite at least five peer-reviewed journal articles in your book review essay. The articles may not be any older, than say, 2015. Please do not cite books. Students who do a particularly good job with this assignment will be encouraged to submit their work to a scholarly journal. Scholarly publications are often very helpful in gaining admittance to Ph.D. programs. Doing this assignment might also provide you with an opportunity down the road to demonstrate to your supervisors at work that you have an ability to synthesize information into an interesting, evocative report. Also, scholarly book reviews enhance one’s visibility as a burgeoning scholar, and make a contribution to the field of criminal justice, and provide invaluable opportunities for personal growth. The instructor will provide everyone with an example of a scholarly book at the beginning of the course.
