What OTC or alternative medications would be appropriate for this patient?
R.S. is a 32-year-old woman who seeks treatment for a vaginal discharge that she has had for the past month. She is sexually active and has had the same partner for the past 6 months. She reports noticing an odor, especially after sexual intercourse. Her history reveals that she has been using a commercial douche on a biweekly basis during the past year for hygienic purposes in an attempt to prevent vaginal infections. She denies any other associated symptoms. The physical examination reveals a white vaginal discharge. Microscopic examination of the vaginal discharge shows clue cells, and the pH is 5.5.
Diagnosis: Bacterial Vaginosis
1. List specific goals of treatment for this patient.
2. What drug therapy would you prescribe? Why?
3. Discuss specific patient education based on the prescribed therapy.
4. List one or two adverse reactions for the selected agent that would cause you to change therapy.
5. What OTC or alternative medications would be appropriate for this patient?
6.What dietary or lifestyle changes should be recommended?
Write a Proposal: Sterile Field vs. Removing Urinary Catheter on Time
Purpose: Describe your idea for a research proposal. Integrate at least six current peer-reviewed articles to support your emerging ideas for the proposal.
(The purpose of this research is to discover the contributing factors that are causing a significant increase in CAUTI in the ICU.I will be exploring if the break in sterile field while inserting the catheter can be a factor to patients getting CAUTI in comparison to exploring the length of time that the urinary catheter stay in and determining if that has a greater significant in the patient getting CAUTI)
Resources: Polit and Beck (2017); other peer reviewed research literature relevant to your topic
Guidelines: Write your paper in narrative format using APA (6th ed.) guidelines. Use your textbook as a foundation for each section of this abbreviated draft proposal and consider feedback you received from your peers and professor during the discussion boards in the course modules.
Background and Significance of the Problem (30 points)
o Introduce the nursing problem or issue you plan to research and convince readers of its importance. (The problem is if a break in sterile field contribute to CAUTI vs removing the cathether in a timely manner)
o Integrate at least four current (5-10 years) and relevant research studies (the exception to this role would be use of seminal articles in the field of research).
o Content in previous sections should build toward this.
Purpose Statement (5 points)
o “Given the problem, the purpose of this proposal is…”
Theoretical or Conceptual Framework (30 points)
o Integrate at least two relevant scholarly sources (no websites). Since best practice is to use primary sources, theoretical articles for this section will likely be older than seven years.
o Use at least one primary source (book or theoretical article written by the theorist)- Please use the theorist Florence Nightingale’s
Leishmaniasis in canids
The essay should be about 2000 words long excluding bibliography. The reading will largely comprise scholarly reviews in journals and monographs, but credit will be given for including cutting edge recent developments you discover in the primary literature (ie research papers).

General guidelines for the team case study assignments:
Papers must be APA formatted
An APA-formatted bibliography must correspond with the citations in the paper. (You cannot have references without citations, or citations without references.)
Each case study is expected to be between 800-words and 1200-words in length. You may go over the page maximum.
Every question in the case-study must be answered and supported with research.
All researched facts must be properly cited.
All papers should be proofread, and be free of spelling and grammar errors.
Direct quotes cannot represent more than 7% of the total word count of the paper.
All case studies must have a minimum of three references that include at minimum:
· Two peer-reviewed articles
· Our textbook
Important: If a team member does not participate in the creation of the case study, then that team member’s name is to be left off the cover page. Writing team member’s name that did not participate is a violation of Academic Integrity policy, and can lead to a grade of a zero for the whole team. Every member of the team is expected to actively participate in creating these case studies.
Case #4: Covid-19: Is There a Functional Shifting Educational Benefit
This case does present some downstream positive benefits to one of the most tragic pandemics to affect the globe in modern times, the Covid-19 public health crisis. It does result in a disruption of the channel of distribution of the health care system in a dramatic fashion as the face-to-face health care of primary care providers could no longer occur in most places in the United States unless it was a truly emergent situation. As a result, individuals experienced in many cases there first telemedicine visit. Often people were asked to sign into their patient portal again or for many it was the first time they had ever done so. While this may have been the first time a person had logged into the portal, it was unlikely that the individual had not been given the opportunity to register onto the portal previously by their provider practice.
That said, the challenge facing medical groups might be is there a marketing opportunity in this that can be carried forward? Will the cohorts that have not historically been used to adopting telemedicine sites for accessing diagnosis or care now consider utilizing such alternatives? Will such cohorts now continue their patient journey in ways to provide information even with their own established care provider practices that will make the monitoring of their own health care more effective. These are the challenging questions in this issue of functional shifting to be posed in this case?
Questions to think about:
1. If you were the marketing director of the Hopper Clinic now that the Covid-19 threat has passed are there marketing research questions you would explore with patients who had experienced telemedicine visits with their Hopper physicians?
a. What would those questions be?
b. Are there specific cohorts to whom you would pose those questions?
2. How would you determine what functions would be most likely to shift to patients in light of their telemedicine experience during the Covid-19 pandemic?
3. In considering the patient journey in Chapter 8, where would this experience during Covid-19 be most relevant? During what stages of the journey?
Assume you are the internal controls expert for your company.
Assume you are the internal controls expert for your company. Your boss has read about Madoff’s Ponzi scheme described in our textbook. Your boss is now worried that your own company, which invests a significant amount of retirement funds for its employees, could fall victim to a similar scheme. He has just sent you a memo asking: “Which specific internal controls should our company adopt to avoid falling for a scheme like this?”
Respond with a memo to your boss detailing at least three internal controls that you would recommend implementing at your company, assuming none are in place right now, to minimize the risk of becoming the victim of an investment fraud. For each internal control you recommend provide:
A detailed descriiption of the policy or procedure to be implemented.
An explanation of how specifically it would mitigate the risk of being defrauded.
A descriiption of any disadvantages the internal control may have.
Gentile & Jewish Christians and the Sabbath
The paper topic is incredibly broad, and the only requirement is that it must include the reading Jean Calvin, “Controversy between Gentile & Jewish Christians regarding the Sabbath.” Otherwise it can be completely freeform following the topic above.
The actual midterm prompt reads: The mid-term paper will be on a topic of the student’s choice dealing with some aspect of the course covered in the first half of the semester. The purpose of the assignment is to allow for further exploration of a topic in more depth than was possible in class sessions. Maximum length seven (7) pages, double-spaced.
