If you use a direct quote, a paraphrase, or someone else’s analysis or ideas, you MUST cite the source. In short, wherever you get your material, you must provide a citation. You must use Times New Roman 12 font, double-spaced, with 1” margins on the top and bottom and 1.25” margins on the right and left. To get those margins (in Microsoft Word or Works), click “Layout” and click the drop-down menu “Margins” – you might have to select “Custom margins” and put the appropriate numbers in the appropriate fields.
Do NOT include extra spaces between paragraphs.
Do NOT include pictures or lengthy quotes.
In the Format/paragraph window, (in the “Indents and spacing” tab) make sure that the “Do not add space between paragraphs of the same style” box IS checked and that the spacing “Before” and “After” is set to 0 pt. In the “Line and page breaks” tab, UNcheck “widow and orphan control.”

Comedy Scene Analysis

Identify one comedy you watched from the list below. Put the title of the film at the top of your submission and the names of the main characters just below, each with a one-sentence description. Describe whose story it is. What was the status quo, the starting situation? What threatened to disrupt the equanimity? What complications ensued, making any resolution appear unlikely? How, finally, was the tension that lay at the heart of the film resolved through humor (150 words)? Next, do a close reading (350 words) of one scene (a series of shots united by time and place that, taken together, form a scene) that illustrates the “epiphany” that occurs in one or more of the characters and describe what cinematictechniques (camera movement and/or angle, editing, lighting, set, casting, sound, composition, etc.–elements not to be confused with actions and plot) the director employs to help immerse you in the moment. Try to stay as much as possible within the word limit. Concision is always more impressive (and harder) than wordiness.

Munder Difflin Case Report Final Exam Overview
Students will be expected to synthesize material from the course to provide recommendations for enhancing leadership effectiveness in an assigned case. You will be asked to play the role of a consultant by identifying problems and recommending solutions. Your assignment will take the form of a leadership consulting report to the president of the organization in order to make informed and supported recommendations regarding specific organizational assessment/s that will evaluate needed organizational and leadership change (based on your analysis of issues discussed in the case study).
After reading Munder Difflin’s Annual Report prepared for your consulting firm, Best Boss Leadership, you will be developing a leadership consulting report to President Bob Difflin offering your suggestions/solutions for dealing with the problems identified in several areas of Munder Difflin’s Annual Report narrative.
Your report should follow a general leadership consulting report structure with clear section headings to orient the reader. The report should include Cover and Reference Pages in APA format. Sections should include:
Executive Summary – serving to state your thesis and preview the problem/solution areas.
Introduction – this can sometimes be referred to as “front matter” including an introduction stating your intention to evaluate the problems or issues and provide recommendations for solutions along with an overview of the organization including any background information.
Body – which should include the following main sections and can also include various subsections:
Problems or Issues within Sales, R&D, Culture/Morale, Communication, and the Executive Team
Solutions to Issues within Sales, R&D, Culture/Morale, Communication, and the Executive Team
Recommendations for specific Organizational Assessment/s within Sales, R&D, Culture/Morale, Communication, and the Executive Team (please use examples from our class activity)
Plan for Implementation and/or Recommended Improvement Strategies within Sales, R&D, Culture/Morale, Communication, and the Executive Team for improving the present situation at Munder Difflin Of note: These areas are suggested, at a minimum, to be included in the body of your analysis and will be part of your evaluation. However, you may find additional areas you wish to address and if so, are welcome to do so.
Conclusion and Final Overall Recommendations – summary/review, sometimes referred to as your “back matter” and is usually an abbreviated re-statement or reiteration of your Executive Summary along with a final brief restatement of your Recommendations. This allows you to close persuasively in order to “sell” your idea.
However you plan to label your report sections, please be clear and organized so it is easy to follow and evaluate your problem-solving strategies and plan for implementing recommended assessments and solutions.
Again, your report should have a cover page, a reference page (the course text cited as a minimum source), and there is a 7 pg. suggested minimum for this final exam (not including cover and reference pages). You should include specific concepts/themes from class readings/discussions in your recommendations cited in APA format.
You will be evaluated on thorough analysis of the case, overall development of ideas, creative application of specific concepts/themes and assessments from class readings/discussions in your recommendations, and consistent citation of concepts in correct APA format/proofing (see rubric for more details on this).

PERSONAL FINANCE DISCUSSION

Discussion
Answer the following discussion topics to its entirety (Unit 1, 2, & 3)

(Unit 1: Financial Planning Discussion Board Chapters 1 & 2)

In chapter one we discussed how a family needs to develop a financial plan to make the best use of resources to achieve your financial goals. As a student you too should develop a financial plan to ensure that what you are spending, financing, and investing are aligned with your financial and career goals. For this discussion, we will talk about how peer pressure and social media can affect your financial goals.

What does the phrase “Keeping up with the Jones” mean? Discuss how peer pressure can affect your personal finances. In addition, how does social media also affect your personal finances? For example, what if several of your friends recently posted on social media they each bought a Jeep and are planning a Jeep trip. Your friends start posting on social media that you should go out and buy one now so you can go with them. However, you do not have the financial means to buy a Jeep. What would you do? Would social peer pressure get to you? Would you go out and buy a Jeep you can not afford?

(Unit 2: Managing Your Personal Finances and Credit Discussion Board Chapter 5)

In chapter 5, we discussed banking and interest rates. Chapter 5 discusses the various types of depository institutions that offer these services: commercial banks, savings institutions, and credit unions. In addition, the chapter talks about federal interest.

Discuss five ways that the federal interest affects you and your bank account, and what does that mean for your future financial plans? For example, what if you were wanting to save up money for a new vehicle or a new home? How would the interest rates affect the growth of your savings? Say you have enough money saved up for the down payment on the house what interest rate would you be able to live with for say 15-30 years.

(Unit 3: Managing Your Personal Finances and Credit Discussion Board Chapters 6, 7, & 8)
In chapter 6, we discussed managing your money. Money management involves decisions made over the short term that ensure sufficient funds to cover both expected and unexpected expenses.

You just found out your car needs a new transmission and is going to cost you $2,000 to get it fixed. You don’t have enough money in your savings account to pay for the repairs because you just bought a new 55″ TV. Your credit cards are maxed and you need the car to get back and forth to work. Now you wished you had listened to your parents when they said it is always important to have an emergency fund. Now that you know how important it is to have an emergency fund what are some ways you think you can achieve it?

What information do you need to gather to support your proposals?

Format: 6 page double-spaced memo, minimum of six sources

Imagine that your team reports to the Chief of Staff for the Mayor of Jederville, Nebraska, a (fictional) township plagued with the highest drug overdose rates in the state and one of the highest in the Midwest Region of the United States.
In response, the Mayor has called an emergency meeting of the township’s leaders in law enforcement, health and public health, business and education. There is a small health clinic that delivers primary care in Jederville, but the nearest hospital licensed to provide in-patient drug treatment is over an hour away. The Police Department consists of three squad cars and a headquarters with two jail cells, one that holds up to ten men, the other up to four women—the Police Chief has stated publicly that he is skeptical of “coddling addicts who need to learn how to stay clean.”
The County Courthouse is about 20 minutes down the road in Dodge City, and the Chief Justice will be at the Mayor’s meeting—She attended a conference last year about how to tackle drug use from the bench and seems open to new ideas.
The Public Health department just received a $2.5 Million grant to address the recent spike in drug use in Jederville, and the Commissioner is a recent mayoral appointee.
Your boss has asked you to develop a series of policy proposals to stem the tide of the overdose epidemic, along with direct actions the Mayor will request from each of the stakeholders attending the meeting.
What information do you need to gather to support your proposals?
What are the top three or four policies or programs that the Mayor should put forward at the meeting?
