On page 202 of our text, it states: “A different issue of contention in American society during the past four decades concerns the changing American family and, related to this, the changing role of owmen in society. Anthony Giddens captures this situaiton when he writes: The family is a site for the setruggles between tradition and modernity, but is also a metaphor for them. There is perhaps more nostalgia surrounding the lost haven of the family than for any ohter institution with its roots in the past. Politicians and activists routinely diagnose the breakdown of family life and call for a return to the traditional family.” (Giddens 1999:53)

Write a research and business requirements change, operating systems evolve to solve problems unique to those environments. Linus Torvalds developed Linux because he was not satisfied with Tantalum’s MINX. David Cutler developed Windows NT to function much like VMS while Bill Gates had aspirations for NT to replace Unix. These business, personal, and academic influences have all impacted the current operating system landscape.

Using your textbook, credible sources, and your own professional or student experiences, respond to the following:
Outline the major influences that led to the development of the modern operating system of your choice. You may select any desktop or mobile operating system you like such as Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, Android, or iOS.

Why or why not? What should or could Canada do to heighten its position and international influence?

The bolded part is my part. My page should be a page and a half and then the stakeholder analysis.

Each group shall prepare a 10-12 minute presentation for the class. A stakeholder analysis will form part of the presentation. Who are the stakeholders, what is their position on the issue? What is the extent of their power and/or influence and how is it derived. How did political ideology or the construction of the state influence those stakeholder positions.

Deliverables

A group report the summarizes the key arguments made in the presentation. Maximum 10 pages. Include all references in APA format. Please be sure to include an executive summary and a title page that lists all group members who participated in the report’s preparation.

It is not necessary that all group members take turns presenting however a single presenter is not sufficient either. Group members are expected to negotiate with one another to assign the preparation work in an equitable manner.
