In 2020, the spread of COVID-19 caused a worldwide pandemic that effected all who lived through it. During this time, we saw how societies responded to the threat of airborne disease in real-life and how that aligned and/or contrasted with scientific advice.
Watch one of the films/shows listed here and discuss what about the film reminds you of life during COVID-19. What similarities or differences do you see between the film and your and society’s response to the pandemic? Does the film portray a realistic view of how society followed/did not follow scientific advice during that time? What can we learn from these movies about behavior during a pandemic? In what ways do you think science and zombie films can learn from each other? Remember you are analyzing the content of the films, not giving a commentary on your or other’s political beliefs.
