Benchmark-Congressional Oversight and DOJ Ethics

T‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌opic: Benchmark-Congressional Oversight and DOJ Ethics Source: 4 Congress has the responsibility to oversee federal agencies. One of those agencies is the U.S. Department of Justice. Let us pretend that the leadership of the Federal Department of Justice has possibly engaged in inappropriate communications with a foreign power in violation of departmental policy; they are accused of meeting with foreign ambassadors without having proper authorization. In answering the following questions, explain how Congress assesses the level of compliance. Research the original purpose regarding the creation of the Department of Justice, to assist in your understanding of this topic. Write an essay that discusses the following: Part I: Congress and the Executive branch 1. What powers does Congress have over agencies in the executive branch? Where can one find these authorized powers? 2. If Congress feels that an executive branch federal agency has fai‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌led to comply with policies, procedures, and standards, what can they do about this situation? Part II: Simulation: Ethics in the DOJ 1. Read through the “Ethics Handbook for On and Off Duty Conduct” from the DOJ and the DOJ Ethics Scenario, located in the Resources. As an employee of the DOJ are you able to accept any gifts or compensation for any services rendered to various individuals or groups? Explain. 2. Why do you think the DOJ has implemented such policies? Are those policies in keeping with the policies, procedures, and standards that were authorized by the enabling legislation of Congress? Explain. (comp. ) 3. Do you think it is a good idea to attempt to keep activities of public servants from even the appearance of impropriety (see “General Principles of Ethical Conduct”, number 14)? Explain. 4. Would participating in trainings with other law enforcement organizations be in keeping with the original purpose of the FBI?‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌ Explain.

Wellbeing in Organization

D‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌ear Writer, the class is wellbeing economics and we need to pick an organization in Saudi Arabia and assess the wellbeing of it. below are the criteria to follow: general description of your organisation, description of at least 2 parts / activities of your organisation where you think wellbeing information can help, description of what you propose (including what would be measured, who would do the measuring, how data might be analysed, what feedback loops would be involved in optimising the initiatives, how it would be managed), the aims of the initiatives, and your general view on how your organisation can gain from wellbeing knowledge. There are many areas of the organisation you could talk about in terms of benefiting from wellbeing initiatives, including the suppliers, clients, workers, particular departments, etc. I am thus expecting to see the following elements in your essay (1, 2, 3, and 7 are compulsory, whilst 4, 5, and 6 might be appropriate for your case): 1. A brief description of the organisation you have chosen: what it does, its size, its clients, its location, etc. I do not want to know sensitive information, just a basic description in order to understand the general structure of the organisation. I suggest something like 200 words for this, but there is no minimum or maximum. 2. A clear description of the group you want to target for your hypoth‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌etical (or actual) wellbeing initiatives. How many are there; how do they relate to the organisation (workers, clients, stakeholders, particular department/layer); what does the organisation already do related to their basic comforts, status, and belonging; what particular problems/strengths does this group face? I suggest something like 1,000 words for this part. 3. A clear description of your proposed wellbeing initiatives. What kind of measurement is involved (formal/informal/survey/observational/administrative); who would be doing it; what feedback loops are there with decision making; how would it fit with the power structures; how does it differ/add to what is already being done; what benefits to the organisation do you expect; what are the resources needed; why and how do you believe the initiative would work. I suggest something like 2,000 words on this part. 4. [If you have done some actual research/interviews/background search] Results, methods, inferences. 5. [if you want to] A broader narrative on wellbeing and your organisation and its goals. That broader narrative could be part of the pitch of these initiatives to management, clients, or stakeholders. 6. Conclusions. A few hundred words is enough. Here you should mainly talk about next steps, challenges and such. 7. Literature and details of methodology (like proposed parts of a survey, or actual data‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌)

Research Study Proposal: Part A

An effective research study begins with a clear research proposal. This week you will determine the topic you wish to research, explain why you wish to research it, and establish a preliminary plan for how you will conduct that research. While your plans may change somewhat, planning your course of action now will provide you with structure as you modify and adjust your subject matter.

Essay Topic A Statement of Purpose: The statement of purpose will provide an opportunity to explain any extenuating circumstances that you feel could add value to your application. You may also want to explain unique aspects of your academic background or valued experiences you may have had that relate to your academic discipline. The statement of purpose is not meant to be a listing of accomplishments in high school or a record of your participation in school-related activities. Rather, this is your opportunity to address the admissions committee directly and to let us know more about you as an individual, in a manner that your transcripts and other application information cannot convey.

An essay is down below, this is a college admissions essay, I feel like what I typed can’t convey very well with the reader, you are allowed to rewrite anything you do not like or even add on anything made up to make it seem more believable or even more attracted to the reader. What this essay is supposed to be about is me being a first-generation student who didn’t have the support or guidance to successfully get into the college I wanted, receiving improper guidance and doubt after my high school career had ended and a positive ending on how I had changed my life around with meeting a mentor who had helped me find purpose and pursuit being a physician.

Many believe that being called a first-generation student is nothing more than a way to look more attractive for college admission; however, those who believe those words forget the one major importance that they take for granted and can be a big advantage over others it’s the importance of being guided.
Growing up I’ve always felt different, it wasn’t only just because of the color of my skin, but rather just not having parents that could’ve helped me academically, who couldn’t help me learn English, who couldn’t help me be responsible with my grades even as a child, or even my future. Because of this, I’ve always been seen as a disappointment to a huge part of my family just because of circumstances I just could not control. During my years of high school, the only help I could get was from my counselor who gave me the worse advice on just taking the hardest classes. Although they had conditioned me to rigorous academics, stress, and many fights with my parents, I could say confidently that they were all for nothing after being denied from the college I wanted to attend, and till this day, I wish I could go back in time and change my past, but I can’t.
Currently, I have worked hard to find a purpose and realize that this is the path I am meant to take and was the only way that I could truly achieve what I want to do in the future. I have experienced the lowest point of my life and with that, I find the courage to rise and go further than before.
However, since then I had grown and realized everything has its purpose and reasoning for why I had ended up where I am. I had decided to help my siblings out with their education and decided to shadow my new mentor who had found me something that I want to pursue through desire and not from wanting to prove myself to anybody.

Choose an issue of importance to you – the issue could be personal, school related, local, political, or international in scope – and write an essay in which you explain the significance of that issue to yourself, your family, your community, or your generation.

This one is a personal issue about a barrier between me and my community which is common but isn’t being addressed by the community to maintain its complete originality. You can add or remove anything to make it sound appealing to the reader. feel free to use strong synonyms.

An issue that I still struggle to improve learning my community’s native language. As a child, my parents were barely around enough to really teach me their native language of Punjabi.
As a result, although more than half of the time can make out what a person would say, I can barely respond to them whether it is due to a lack of vocabulary or just pronunciation.
Part of that has to do with the lack of support to those who are just like me outside of my parents. Even if I could reply with a sentence, I would be looked down upon, or even laughed at rather than being corrected.
The problem I find with this community is that people just like me have no way to socialize with others in our community because the majority believe the best way to be connected is through knowing the native language.
Many find this as a point to look down upon as for instance, it might be seen as an advantage to one family that they were successfully able to pass down their language to their children, unlike another family. This is where one of the bigger problems begin to unfold, where comparisons are being brought upon families on whether or not their children were able to learn the language, if they weren’t, it would be a sign for them that they aren’t as much as apart of the community as the family that was able to pass down the language.
For one instance is going to church, I cannot understand what prayers are being said, or even participate in any events just because I cannot say anything or do many things that involve being social.
First-generation children for the community are no stranger to this problem, and despite this, the community just isn’t wanting to find change to support our generation.
Even though religion is one of the biggest in the world, I truly believe if no change is desired within Sikhism to support the new generation, it will become the downfall for the religion outside of those who had migrated.

Mrs. Y
Mrs. Y is an 84-year-old client who was recently discharged from the hospital for an infected diabetic ulcer on her left leg. During her hospitalization, Mrs. Y required intravenous antibiotic therapy through a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line.

Due to Mrs. Y’s long history of diabetes, her physician ordered that intravenous antibiotic therapy be continued at home. Subsequently, home health services were initiated, a home health nurse was assigned to Mrs. Y’s case, and an initial home visit was scheduled.

The home health nurse arrives at Mrs. Y’s home and introduces herself to the client and the family. The nurse explains the home nursing services that will be provided, including the PICC line and intravenous antibiotic therapy treatments.

During the initial home visit, the nurse assessed the physiological, psychological, functional, and safety needs of the client. The nurse’s findings were as follows:

Mrs. Y lives alone; however, her daughter checks on her frequently throughout the day.
The client is noted to have moderate functional issues and ambulates with a cane.
The client has several throw rugs in the main walking quarters and minimal lighting throughout the hallways.
Mrs. Y states “I used to get around my house with ease, but now I get a little tired and have to sit down and rest frequently.”

Consider Mrs. Y’s current health status and functional decline, then address the following:
