Secondary Data Source Findings
Review the following website or the internet to find articles on specific secondary data sources.
Source: Quality Healthcare through Quality Information: American Health Information Management Association. Retrieved from http://www.ahima.org/
Analyze your findings on secondary data sources and discuss them with your classmates. How do the findings add to and contribute to the information provided in the text? Try not to duplicate articles that your classmates have chosen.
Discussion responses should be on-topic, original, and contribute to the quality of the discussion by making frequent informed references to the lesson material. Initial discussion responses should be around 100 words.

To best reflect on the affordances & limitations of these various tools of engagement:
Think across the various texts and themes, rather than choosing the simplest one
Highlight key themes and arguments and/or focus on passages that stood out

java code

1) Create a Java Project called PurchaseProject, create a package called
purchaseProject, create an object class called Purchase – include these features in
the class:
a) Decide what fields are needed to describe a purchase at a retail store(for
simplicity assume the purchase is of one
item type but could be multiples of that
item – for example 6 apples or 5 oranges) at the minimum you should have a
price, quantity and item name.
b) Create a constructor with no parameters but including default values
** Note : input for item being purchased, how
many and the price will be input by
the user in the console in the driver class(using Scanner class).
c) Create methods to retrieve and modify each of the fields for the Purchase class.
** Note – in the set methods for
quantity and price – do not allow zero – if user
enters zero give them an error message and exit the project
(To exit the
project use : (System.exit(0)) the 0 means there is no error)
d) Create method to get (calculate) the order total including 8.75% tax. (use a
constant)
2) Create a driver class called PurchaseTester
a) Create an instance of the Purchase class
b) Prompt the user to enter name of the item they are purchasing, the price of the
item and the quantity of the item.
c) Accept the input and store it in a variable
d) Use this variable as input to the methods to set the Class variables.
e) Display the total cost of the transaction including the sales tax – round the result to 0 decimals using the Math.round function.

American History: Autobiographies of Franklin and Douglass

Paper 1 Description
Across the autobiographies you have read in the first half of the course, how do the authors Benjamin Franklin and Frederick Douglass balance the work of identifying their special achievements and positioning themselves as replicable models for self-making? Do the different authors do this differently? How so? Why so? What differences do their historical contexts make (Franklin writing at the end of the 18th century and Douglass from the middle of the 19th)?
Essays that are truly excellent will also address the “So What?” of this: Why might it matter for these men to position themselves one way or another? How might we understand that as related to the larger “project” of their autobiographies?
You should create an arguable thesis and draw evidence from Douglass and Franklin. Although you may use some of the quotes discussed in lecture, your essay should not be totally reliant on evidence already discussed by Prof Fusco. Instead, you should work to demonstrate your independent ability to read a text and develop an argument from primary evidence. Your essay should also be sure to situate the writers in terms of lecture context and at least one other reading from the course.
The very best essays will develop a specific thesis that addresses the multi-part question posed here: what’s the balance Franklin and Douglass strike between positioning themselves as special vs. replicable, why might it matter, and what does it have to do with their positions at their historical moment? Please note that this is not a generic compare-contrast essay.
Your thesis should be supported by paragraphs with clear topic sentences that stake smaller supporting claims for each paragraph and then analyze quotations as evidence for this claim.
Nitty Gritty:
No outside references should be consulted
The essay should be between 5-6 pages, double-spaced, reasonable font
Due before end of day (11:59 pm) 2/18
A thesis that answers the two-part prompt
Good, argumentative topic sentences
Quotations and their analysis as evidence
Draws on lecture context
Cites one other reading in addition to Douglass and Franklin
Uses appropriate MLA in-text citation (Douglass 22)

Humanities Class

You need to choose 5 musicians that are either mentioned or appear in the video “Motor City Burning”, “MoTown Invasion” and/or “Detroit Jazz City”. You will need to then research those people a bit and then create a poem. Each stanza of the poem should be at least 10 lines long. You will have 5 stanzas in total (50 lines)…each stanza will represent each of the musicians you chose. They do not need to flow together.

Heroism Unit Project.

Unit 1: Heroism Unit Project
Throughout this Unit, you have been exploring what it means to be an epic hero. We have seen strong heroes, brave heroes, clever heroes, arrogant heroes, and more. For this paper, you will consider what traits the heroes we studied had in common – and which heroes did not quite fit the mold.
Remember that epic heroes embody the values of the culture that created them, and so heroes vary as widely as cultures do. However, there are certainly common threads and themes while discussing what makes a hero. For your paper, you will be exploring one trait of a hero in a complex and nuanced way. You will build this complexity by discussing two heroes who possess it – and one hero who does not.
Click on the link in the Red Box to view the Project Rubrics for this project.
Outline
Below is what your outline should include:
Introduction
Explain the purpose of the paper – to define an epic hero by exploring one aspect of heroism.
Provide background. What is an epic?
Choose a trait of an epic hero to examine.
Body Paragraph #1
Describe the unique way one hero studied in this unit displays your heroic trait
Example #1-3 from the story as support
Body Paragraph #2
Describe the unique way another hero studied in this unit displays your heroic trait
How does this second hero display the trait differently than the first?
Example #1-3 from the story as support
Body Paragraph #3
Describe how a third hero does NOT display your heroic trait
How does this hero differ from the other two?
Example #1-3 from the story as support
Conclusion
Discuss a meaningful insight about what heroism truly means
Personal Conclusion Explained
Conclusion:
Come to a meaningful insight about what heroism truly means.
This essay structure might be new to you. Usually, academic essays ask you to choose a thesis and prove it thoroughly, while this essay asks you to break away from your thesis to create a deeper definition of heroism. Because it might be confusing, I have included a summary of a sample essay below. (Note: This summary shows you the progression of thought I am looking for. Your essay should follow a similar logical path, but should be a full five paragraphs, include quotations from the story, etc.)
Sample Topic:
Epic heroes behead their enemies. Beowulf beheads Grendel, Gilgamesh removes Humbaba’s head and hangs it on a tree branch, and Eowyn slices off the large, scaly head of her enemy with a sword. This act of decapitating your enemies seems to be a consistent trend among epic heroes and tells us a good deal about what kind of hero they are. A hero must be confronting their enemy face-to-face and dominates them completely by decapitating them – this shows bravery, capability, and thus seems to be the “noble” way to kill your enemy. However, the hobbit, Merry, destroys the Black Rider he faces by stabbing it in the back; this is an underhanded method, relying on the element of surprise rather than the physical power of the hero. Thus, Merry certainly seems to lack the “nobility” of the grand, armored heroes of the other tales. While this distinction sets Merry apart as a unique hero among the others, the end is the same: he defeats the threat he faces.
Your paper must discuss three heroes out of the ones we studied in the Unit (Beowulf, Gilgamesh, Eowyn, Merry, Sundiata, Odysseus). You must use quotes from the text for at least two of the three heroes, and a total of at least four quotes throughout the paper.
This essay should be between two and five pages (500-1500 words) in length. Your final draft should be saved and submitted as .doc or .pdf file. It should be in 12-point font in Times New Roman.
10% of your grade will be on grammar and mechanics. Write as clearly and correctly as you can. This means that 90% of your grade is based on your ideas – however, you will not earn an A if you do not proofread carefully and check for errors.
Most importantly, remember this is a culminating project for the Heroism Unit. Your essay should show everything you have learned throughout the unit.
