Describe each of the four fields of anthropology. Give an example of what each type of anthropologist might study. What unifies the four fields under the umbrella of anthropology? Do you think it is important for students of anthropology to learn about all of the fields? Why or why not?

Rationale

This is a RATIONALE that needs to be written about the DIFFERENTIATED LESSON PLAN I created based on the CLASS PROFILE I have.

Instructions to complete the RATIONALE:

– You will need to provide a rationale for your chosen activities that is based on research from the course readings and other appropriate sources.

For example, if you incorporate a choice board to have students demonstrate their learning for your lesson you should state that it will meet the learning preferences of students (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic). You should also provide support from research and/or readings (i.e. Learning for All) to indicate that this will meet the needs of all learners in your class profile.

– you need to explain how you have met the needs of the students in the course class profile with specific reference to course materials.

RATIONALE RUBRIC: (FOLLOW IT VERY CAREFULLY)

– Rationale makes explicit reference to students’ identified strengths and areas of need found in the Learning Profile and clearly explains how these are met by the lesson plan.

– Rationale makes good use of course materials in supporting chosen differentiation strategies.

– Rationale is focused, clear and well written. The writing flows smoothly and there are no errors in punctuation, capitalization, grammar & spelling.

To be able to do the rationale:

Write a 4-6 page analysis of a current problem or issue in health care, including a proposed solution and possible ethical implications.

In your health care career, you will be confronted with many problems that demand a solution. By using research skills, you can learn what others are doing and saying about similar problems. Then, you can analyze the problem and the people and systems it affects. You can also examine potential solutions and their ramifications. This assessment allows you to practice this approach with a real-world problem.

W1: The Prospects for Use of Weapons of Mass Destruction

Discussion Questions: After viewing the video for this week (Weapons of Mass Destruction), the notion that “technology has been instrumental in creating these weapons” was repeatedly highlighted. Explain how as technology continues to evolve, the threat becomes more likely for non-state actors to use a WMD? Are there preventive measures that can stop this escalation?

Article Review: “Reporting Accounting Changes and Their Multi-period Effects”

Accountants are responsible for ensuring alignment with various standards, including GAAP and IFRS, as well as satisfying the needs of various other users of financial statements (and potentially others, depending on the nature of the business they work for.) The article Reporting Accounting Changes and Their Multi-period Effects discusses why firms are not required to disclose information for years subsequent to a change, even when the impacts of the change span multiple years. Review the article and discuss the following, providing examples to support your ideas:
Should companies be expected to report the impact of changes expected in subsequent years, especially if they have multiperiod impacts? Why or why not?
Would multiperiod disclosure of accounting changes be useful to investors and other users? Why or why not?

two genres comparison

For your first paper assignment, you will be analyzing two genres of your choice and comparing them in terms of audience, purpose, and composition.

You will remember from class that, if you look at it the right way, pretty much anything can be a text and thus can be analyzed. For this essay, I would like you to choose two—any two, not necessarily “academic”—genres, find examples of each, analyze them, and compare your findings. You should choose two genres that “speak to each other” in some way. For example, you could analyze two types of social media communication (the tweet vs. the Instagram pic) or a physical book vs. a book read via a tablet or reader.

I want you to feel free to think outside the box here. You can analyze two genres of video games (FPS vs. RPG), two types of cartoons (American animation vs. anime), two different types of news sources (newspaper vs. online news), and so forth. You can “genre-fy” just about anything and you can thus analyze anything in terms of its generic conventions.

In addition to conducting a discussion of your chosen genres (and at least one example of each), you will have two secondary sources for this paper. Ideally, they will be scholarly articles about your two genres. (Yes, there are scholarly articles about things like video games and Twitter.)

You don’t have to set your paper up in a particular way but here’s one possible way to go about it: intro (define each genre and explain why you are comparing the two); description of each genre in terms of what it “looks like,” its purpose and intended audience, providing and discussing examples of each; a discussion of how the two genres “interact” (what they have in common in terms of composition, purpose, and audience, and how they differ); some “takeaways” about the two genres in terms of their potential for future use.

Your paper will be in the MLA format and, accordingly, will be double-spaced, will contain a separate Works Cited page, and will not contain a cover page.

How would you describe the importance of having a healthy gut microbiome for physical and nutritional health? (4 points-include a detailed description and explanation of the gut microbiome, give an example that supports your description)

Discussion Week 2

This week’s topic is on physical and nutritional health. After reviewing the videos and PowerPoint slides, please respond to these 2 questions:

1. How would you describe the importance of having a healthy gut microbiome for physical and nutritional health? (4 points-include a detailed description and explanation of the gut microbiome, give an example that supports your description)

2. Review the uploaded document: Chapter 2: Things to think about for discussion. Based on your understanding from the reading, PowerPoint lecture, and uploaded videos, choose one of the concepts and describe how this societal strategy can improve nutritional choices for individuals and communities. (3 points–critical thinking, descriptive, creative, use of web links to other articles or YouTube video(s) to emphasize your point.)
