Cultural diversity in Latin America

For essay 1 you must research and compare cultural diversity in Latin America by comparing a specific cultural aspect of some Latin American countries. You must compare at least 2 different Latin American countries. It is necessary that you do not write general information about cultures, but investigate and delve into a specific aspect. Examples of specific cultural aspects: music, food, government, Independence Day traditions, Christmas or Three Kings Day traditions, dances, etc.
You need to write at least 500 words (more or less 2 pages), with an introduction, development of at least 3 well-crafted paragraphs and a conclusion. Also, don’t forget to include another APA-style “Works Cited” page. For this writing it is mandatory to use a minimum of 3 secondary sources (NOT Wikipedia) or other sources on the web. Be careful about committing plagiarism. See the Rubric for essays so you know how the essay will be evaluated.
The essay must include the following components:
1. The Introduction : It is in the first paragraph. Include a clear thesis.
General introduction of the topic of your essay
Thesis sentence of your work: specific focus of the essay
2 . The Body O Development : It is found in the second, third and fourth paragraphs. Explain or develop the thesis of the essay.

Cognitive Science

Essay Option Two: Term Paper
In brief: In this assignment, you will write a paper about one of the approved topics in the list given below. Think of this assignment as though you were writing an encyclopedia article about the topic. Your job is to find the latest research on the topic, and summarize it. If you author one of the best articles, we might approach you after the class is over to talk about inclusion in a free online textbook.

Specifications: The article should be between 800 and 3000 words, references included.

There should be between 10 and 30 citations, preferably of scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals. To find out if a particular article is peer-reviewed, use this website:
http://ulrichsweb.serialssolutions.com.proxy.library.carleton.ca/
Also, if you look up a journal on Carleton’s library website, it will often tell you that it is peer-reviewed, if it is.

In general, you should cite the most recent research. When you search, try to use references from the past few years. Sometimes, if an idea is very old, you can cite the origin of the idea (the first paper or book that proposed it), but also a more recent version of it. If the most recent research is rather old (1990s, for example) you can put in a disclaimer in the comments section on Brightspace. Most references should be from the last 10 years.

You should have sub-headings to help with organization.

It needs to be in your own words. The TAs will be on the lookout for plagiarism, so make sure you do not copy other people’s sentences. It’s not even a good idea to quote people, even if you cite it–that’s not done much in science, nor in encyclopedias, unless the there is something very important about the exact wording.

The list of available topics:
Exaptation in biology and invention (Evolution)
Deja Vu
Creativity in Artificial Intelligence
Deep Learning (in artificial intelligence methods)

Business Profile – Marketing Research Section

Students will work in groups to develop a comprehensive Marketing Plan for a business start-up approved by the instructor during Unit 1 of the course.
The Group Marketing Plan assignment will require research into this type of business in order to identify potential market segments and their characteristics, select appropriate target markets, design a marketing mix that will optimize the profitability of the business, set targets and evaluation metrics, and develop a full implementation plan. Students should use resources from the optional reading list to guide them in the development and preparation of the Plan.
This plan will be presented to the Executive Committee of the company.
The written submission should be substantive, both in length (maximum 30 pages, double-spaced, 12 pt font) and content, directly and thoughtfully addressing the question or issue. Use APA format.
The report should be professional. The Product (the content, the presentation, etc.), Place (the manner in which it is presented to the professor), Price (the amount of effort required to read and consider the points – this is a place where clarity, conciseness and attention to grammar, and spelling and punctuation counts), and Promotion (how well your ideas are supported and whether to “sell” your position) work together as the professor evaluates your work.Required section, marketing research.

Land use/land cover change detection analysis in QGIS for an area over a certain timeline

Will conduct a research within remote sensing. The topic will be “Land use/land cover change detection analysis in QGIS for an area over a certain timeline like 2000-2020”.
From the description one can see that the topic is still unclear. I would like to discuss further and will try to form the topic specifically. For sure it will be a change detection analysis in land cover/land use in a small area of interest (will agree together on where and the timeline of it). I have access to services providing satellite images such as Copernicus. QGIS only can be used for this research.
The deliverables are
1) a scientific poster in size A1 or A0 made in Powerpoint (I will provide the template). The poster should introduce and justify the study (why is it important), outline the
methods and datasets that will be used, interpret the results through graphs
and maps as applicable, and discuss them appropriately.
2) A word document tutorial like, that explains the steps as analytical as possible. No formal template required here, as it is just for me to be able to understand the steps. An oral exam/presentation will take place and therefore have to be able to explain everything if my examiner asks.

Case study: Ms. Resnick

For the last several months, Mrs. Resnick, a 43 year old secretary, has been experiencing some of the physical symptoms of panic and anxiety. She has problems falling asleep. At work she cannot focus due to her mind constantly drifting to various concerns about her husband and children. Unfortunately, as her concerns mount, the concerns are making her life increasingly difficult to manage.
Imagine that you are her REBT therapist. How would you conceptualize Ms. Resnick’s situation thinking about the theory? What are some applicable interventions or skills you would use during the process of clinical assessment and treatment with this case? Please use examples to demonstrate

Need a solid and specific thesis statement.

Write an article outline and thesis statement including at least 7 resources in APA format.
The outline should be detailed about the information and examples that you will cover in each section.

Topic about Autonomous Driving & Self-Driving Vehicle. Feel Free to alter it as long as it’s about the Self-Driving Vehicle.

My thoughts for this topic will be something like –
Whose lives can be truly transformed by the application of these technologies and therefore can we see the great value of these technologies in terms of inclusivity. Case study, compare and contrast, narrow focus, opposite viewpoint, etc.

thoughtful consideration of the content presented in the course. The
writing should integrate scholarly resources, reflect academic
expectations and current APA standards

Information:
The impetus for widening the concept of diversity and exposing its
strategic importance and challenges has been culture. When companies
continue to grow internationally, they soon discover that operating
within new communities requires a greater awareness and appreciation of
culture. Needs, interests, experiences, and ways of operating require an
organization to employ local workers to best understand these
complexities.
Similarly, cultural influences have also influenced attitudes to
diversity and inclusion in ways that some organizations are not used to.
There is a generational divide between developing and emerging
countries; for instance, developed nations are facing an aging
population, while developing countries have a much younger workforce.
The challenge will be to attract and retain multi-generational workers
and to discover generational gaps in job styles, motivation, technical
skills, and communication preferences. Thus, culture brings diversity
and inclusion to the forefront.
The recognition of diversity is fraught with issues. When working
with various cultures in a diverse setting, communication issues will
undoubtedly arise. Communication issues do not necessarily mean that
deep-seated cultural norms are being violated. Rather, it just means
that there are possible differences in the way that various populations
perceive certain things. For example, in many western nations, direct
communication is the norm and preferred style of communication. While in
contrast, in many eastern cultures, indirect communication is the norm.
Also, views of attitudes toward hierarchy and authority are viewed
differently by various cultures.
Understanding these differences can help an organization navigate
through various communication issues found when working with diverse
populations.
