Describe an example of two HEALTH policies that have been supported or contested by this group.
The main body of this research paper shall be no less than two pages. Word count is not a top priority, effort is; as well as, an understanding and application of what we’ve learned in this chapter.
Please include each question at the top of your paragraph answers, include in-text citations, as well as a reference list, in alignment with APA 7th edition citation form and style. Use the textbook as a source citation. You may use a journal article as an additional source, retrieved from the University Library Databases, and/or the interest groups’ website, in addition to the course textbook.
APA 7th edition form and style includes a title page, abstract, introduction, main body, conclusion, and reference page. APA uses 1” margins, 12 point times new roman font, and double spacing (excluding the abstract which is single spaced).
On the course home page, under Student Resources, there is an APA paper template for your convenience. Please use it.
If you need help finding an interest group check out the following website:

(Links to an external site.)
Here are few examples of some of the most popular interests groups, amongst students: Planned Parenthood, American Medical Association, American Heart Association, American Public Health Association, American Nursing Association, American Hospital Association.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The interest group you choose for this assignment will also play a role in your chapter 3 assignment, so make sure you are choosing a group that advocates for health policy.
Discuss several factors for both sides of the coin with this argumentative topic.
Gender-segregated classrooms has long been an area of debate due to several factors that promote as well as hinder the learning process. Use the topic of “Should girls and boys be taught differently in the classroom?” as the foundation to build upon. Discuss several factors for both sides of the coin with this argumentative topic. Be sure to connect to factual points found through your research of peer-reviewed journal articles to validate both sides of the topic. Include specific examples to illustrate your thoughts and findings.
Explain how your data collection process is consistent and reliable

Psychotropic medication alone is not always the most
effective treatment in all aspects of mental illnesses. Combining ECT with
other medications has shown to significantly increase the effectives of these
medications, when compared to their use alone.

translating movement paper
The three protest movements studied in this section are quite distinct with respect to histories, strategies, and goals; (the Domestic workers in the US,Women farmworkers in the US, and women in the Niger Delta.) That said, women were central to the advancement of and creativity in all three movements. Discuss the roles of women in each movement. (You can focus on any sub-movement in the Niger Delta, you do not need to discuss them all.)
DO NOT START WRITING THIS WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE GRADING RUBRIC FIRST! I WOULD ALSO LOOK AT MY FEEDBACK ON YOUR FIRST TRANSLATING MOVEMENT PAPER TO MAKE SURE YOU LEARN FROM THOSE MISTAKES, WHERE RELEVANT.
Rublic:
Understand the movement:
Does your paper make it clear to me that you understand the DWU, the UFW, and the activism in the Niger Delta?
Example:
Do you provide at least one CONCRETE example of how women participated in each movement?
Writing format and assignment guidelines:
Is your paper well written? Typed? Well organized? Proofread? Properly formatted? Includes page numbers? In text citations? Meets the length requirements – 600 words, double spaced pages, one inch margins? Word count is included? Specific audience is noted up front?
IMPORTANT:
Edit, after looking the first batch: I will stop reading after I get to what appears to be around 600 words, thus your grade will be based on the first 600 words of your answer even if you include 1,000.
*NO OUTSIDE READINGS.
* NO GOOGLE SOURCES TO ANSWER THE QUESTION
Guidance for choosing your audience:
1) Other academics: This will be the standard academic paper, written for someone educated but does not know the specifics of the topic you will discuss. You might choose this if a) you don’t feel like thinking about a new audience, b) you feel like you need to work on your college level writing so you need to keep practicing, or c) you are considering a career in academia so you will be speaking this language for a long time and need to perfect it.
Note: In my experiences, writing for non-academics can be harder so don’t choose these options because they sound easier.
2) High school students: Your are considering some sort of career in K-12 education. This would be good practice for hopefully being able to teach this sort of material to High Schoolers or below some day. (Or your own kids or relatives.)
3) Alternative/popular press: This means places like Ms. Magazine or Bitch Media. You might choose this if a) you are considering a career as a writer. Even non-academic writing requires evidence so these papers would be good practice; b) you are interested in starting a blog or already have one; 3) are interested in starting a podcast or already have one.
4) Friends/family that you care about, who are hostile to GWSS: Many of us have had conversations with people who have dismissed the content of GWSS classes. For those of us who teach it or major in it those conversations can be anywhere from maddening to painful. If you are one of those people who struggles to explain what you are learning and why it matters, this might be your option.
In all cases, regardless of your audience, your paper needs to:
Note: All of this will be turned into your grading rubrics so read these guidelines carefully and check the rubric before you start each paper.
Tell me which audience you have chosen. This should be at the top of your paper and does not go toward your word count.
Answer the question clearly and directly.
Demonstrate you did and understood the readings, particularly the connections across them. This is done by clearly incorporating evidence from the reading into your answer. If you are doing option 4 you can include the evidence in a chatty way. For example, “I read this article that said…” And then explain what you read in such a way that makes it clear to me you did the reading.
Be well written: This means grammatically correct and clearly organized. In a good paper, among other things, arguments should flow logically and legibly from one to the next. Again, option 4 can be chatty, almost like you are talking, but it still needs to be grammatically correct and well organized.
Adhere to course format guidelines, including the word count, double-spacing, one-inch margins, and include the word count in the paper.

Radical Remission, Chaps 5-8
In the Chapter 5, “Releasing Suppressed Emotions,” explain how the “Waterfall Solution” works to release suppressed emotions.
In Chapter 6, “Increasing Positive Emotions,” Saranne, the young cancer patient with the daughter credits adding joy and laughter to her healing. Just as we learned in Chapter 5 that negative emotions like fear and feeling stressed produce cortisol and adrenalin, what happens to our bodies when we feel positive emotions?
In Chapter 7, “Embracing Social Support,” how did Kathryn’s church contribute to her healing?
In Chapter 8, “Deepening Your Spiritual Connection,” what was Matthew’s journey (young Colorado man with brain cancer)?
Who is “John of God”?
Add your vocabulary list.

COVID Case A – Discussion
COVID Case A – Discussion
This is the first of 4 COVID cases that we will discuss from the “COVID-19 Global Lessons Learned..” textbook. For this discussion you will need to read “CASE STUDY 2: Epidemiology of COVID-19 (Links to an external site.)”. At the end of the case there are 5 discussion questions. If your birth date is even you need to answer the even questions for this discussion. If your birth date is odd you need to answer the odd questions for this discussion. For example, my birth date is the 2nd so I would answer the even questions (2 & 4) for this discussion.
You must have 3 posts in this discussion.
1. Your first post will be with your answers to the discussion questions you have been assigned. Your answers must be substantive – meaning a paragraph (4 or more sentences) for each question.
2. You must respond to someone else who answered the same questions as you. Your responses must also be substantive and thoughtful. What insight did you gain from their responses? You may also add an opinion, comment, or insight to enhance their responses.
3. Your final post will be a reply to a student who answered the questions that you were not assigned for this discussion. What insight did you gain from their responses? You may also add an opinion, comment, or insight to enhance their responses.
I will not give full credit for short answers or short replies. Be thoughtful and make this discussion meaningful.
