Scenario – Your hospital has recently revised its CQI vision and aims based on the work done on the Quality Chasm series. As nurse manager in an ED (Emergency department) you need to take this information and make it “real” for staff in the ED. You and the medical director will present this information to the staff, but you need to figure out how it applies to daily work and how to engage staff. You both agree that the staff will not appreciate the “words” on the paper unless you can attach their meaning to their daily work.
Instructions:
Read the scenario above and answer the following questions:
What information would you use as your base to discuss the vision and the aims?
How would you then apply this information to the ED and daily work done by staff?
Would benchmarked data be of any use in this scenario to the committee?
Your post should:
Answer the questions as thoroughly and concisely as possible.
Be sure to reference any works that you utilize in answering the questions (Be sure that references are in APA format)

In what ways do these readings connect to previous readings?
Each summary/critique is expected to be around 2 pages (double spaced). On the first page, I would like to see a general summary of the reading for the week. As this summary is expected to be roughly one page, it will not be possible to address and cover every topic of the chapter(s) for the week; rather, the goal is to concisely summarize the larger picture and ideas from the material in a cohesive narrative. The remainder of the document should revolve more around your thoughts regarding the reading and connections to other readings and course material. In what ways do these readings connect to previous readings? Was there anything that just stuck out or caught your attention from the readings? If so, why? Are there any specific connections to current sporting events or controversies? The goal in the second portion (the critique portion) is to flex your sociological and critical thinking muscles. As you read, what stands out? Why? Full credit will be given for sufficient, well written and well-organized summaries and for critiques that show a willingness to grapple with and make critical connections between the readings and previous readings or current events.

What role do brand names play in prices and your purchasing habits?
In this second module, you are introduced to the laws of supply and demand. This question we are covering six chapters, so there is a myriad of different topics that we could cover, but I believe that if we look at the following question, we can draw in a lot of the different concepts presented in these chapters:
In our mixed economic system, who really decides prices? Producers or Consumers?
In answering this question, you may want to consider the following issues:
Is it necessary for producers and consumers to sit down and discuss price levels?
What role do brand names play in prices and your purchasing habits?
Does the law of demand always hold true?
Why do producers spend so much money on advertising, shaping our tastes and preferences?
Are there markets where you see a need for price controls?

What is dharma, and how do characters such as Rama, Lakshmana and Hanuman exemplify the role of dharma?
Purpose: Practice discovering the epic themes of sacred and secular, the hero, and gender roles by considering a major early epic, the Ramayana.
This discussion should build your critical reading and analysis skills,
as well as help prepare you for your essays later in the course. Keep
in mind that, your central concern is to understand what the
evidence about these epic themes reveals about the relationship between
the epic heroes and their own cultures as well as the relationship
between epic heroes and heroic elements common to human society in all
times.
Tasks: Use the steps below to write 1-2
full paragraphs connected to the purpose and overarching themes in the
readings for this unit. Pick Option 1, 2, or 3 below, and follow the
steps outlined.
Option 1: Values of Hinduism and Hindu culture as found in the Ramayana: What is dharma, and how do characters such as Rama, Lakshmana and Hanuman exemplify the role of dharma?
Option 2: Roles of Women: Given the male-centered
world of the culture, how do female characters such as Sita and Kaikeyi
demonstrate their power and seem to represent the culture’s view of
female characteristics? How does the portrayal of these women compare
with ways women are portrayed in other cultures or in our culture today?
Provide some examples of the traits of Sita or other women in the Ramayana and discuss the epic’s treatment of gender.
Option 3: The Hero’s Journey: Following his exile,
Rama’s journey is largely a battle. Discuss the representations of
good and evil, as well as the conflicts between good and evil in Rama’s
journey. What is significant about Rama’s eventual triumph? Is there
anything in Rama’s journey that reminds you of current quests or
battles?
Start by deciding which option above you would like to write about. Once you have made that decision, then:
Select a relevant passage of your own choosing from Ramayana.
Choose carefully, thinking about how these two passages might speak to
overarching themes and the bolded text in the Purpose, above.
Depending on which option you chose, explain the following:
Option 1: How does your passage illustrate a conclusion about actions that are motivated by dharma in the Ramayana,
and how is that significant or important for understanding Rama and
possibly Lakshmana or Hanuman within their culture–or heroes more
generally?
Option 2: How does your passage illustrate a conclusion about roles of women in the Ramayana, and how is that significant or important for understanding women within this culture or more generally?
Option 3: How does your passage illustrate a
conclusion about the meaning of conflicts between good and evil in
Rama’s question, and how is that significant or important for
understanding mortality as viewed within the Hindu culture or more
generally?
You might want to sketch out your initial thoughts in lists, a concept map, or whatever note format helps you the most.
Structure and revise your initial thoughts into 1-2
robust, well-developed paragraphs, using the passage you have selected
as evidence to support your ideas, and post them in the discussion.
Respond substantively to at least two of your classmates’
posts, explaining why you agree or disagree with them (and you may agree
with some parts and disagree with others). Include other thoughts you
may have about their topic and ideas. Include a quotation to support
each of your responses.
Criteria on which you will be graded:
Your selection of a passage to support your argument is thoughtful
Your analysis is specific and original
Your post speaks to your selected theme and the Purpose above.
Your responses to your classmates are respectful and substantive
Your writing is clear and well-organized
This activity may use a different grading rubric than what was used
in past activities. Be sure to check the grading rubric before starting.
Analyze and briefly discuss why each term is essential to include in a Clean-client cleaning contract.
Background: Contracts are essential for business and will be an integral part of Viral Clean’s (“Clean”) operations, so the owners now want to focus on contract law. Each owner has experience with contracts in their businesses and appreciates the probable risks and liabilities associated with contracts. They also know that contracts should be comprehensive, clear, and specific to avoid possible disputes with employees and clients.
The Clean owners know that there are various types of contract agreements relevant to their business. Clean will have individual contracts with employees, independent contractors, and other agents representing the company. Also, Clean will engage in sales contracts with other businesses, consumers, and clients.
The owners want all contracts to be written to reduce disputes and risks and liabilities associated with contracts, with specific, complete, and unambiguous terms. Contracts must define the rights and responsibilities of the parties. Also, since employees and independent contractors will be performing cleaning services on clients’ properties, these contracts should require bonding for all employees.
You, Winnie, and Ralph presented draft contracts for Clean’s employees, including different contracts for cleaners, office managers, marketing specialists, sales representatives, and IT employees.
The Clean owners reviewed the drafts and have some questions about the contracts.
Background Facts You Need to Know: At Winnie’s and Ralph’s request, it is your responsibility to research and provide answers to the Clean owners’ questions. As an example, Winnie, Ralph, the Clean owners, and you have determined that Clean’s contract with its cleaner- employees will include the following terms and conditions:
specific duties to be performed by cleaner-employee
salary for cleaner-employee
work hours
terms of payment for overtime or holiday work, if any
sick leave
vacation leave
training requirements for cleaner-employee
length of contract
bonding for cleaner-employee
periodic performance evaluation and how it will be conducted
termination of the contract, i.e., a notice of termination, etc.
Report You Need to Prepare: To begin developing a contract between Clean and its cleaning clients, prepare a report that addresses the following (note that this is for a contract with Cleans clients and not Clean’s employees).
1. Identify five contract terms and conditions – other than price – that should be included in the Clean contract with its cleaning clients.
2. Analyze and briefly discuss why each term is essential to include in a Clean-client cleaning contract.
Tips for Formatting Report: The report should use the following format
