Describe at least three (3) of the most important points contained within the chapter, and explain and/or justify the importance of each element.

This assignment has three components.
Part I: Major Points of the Reading (600 words minimum)
Read Chapter 4 (Prejudice + Discrimination) and Chapter 5 (Oppression and Power) in our course text, Is Everyone Really Equal?
(Links to an external site.)
For both chapters, identify the most important aspect of the readings. Describe at least three (3) of the most important points contained within the chapter, and explain and/or justify the importance of each element. There should be a total of at least six (6) major points – three from each chapter. What are the major takeaways from these two chapters? Please note: the points you identify should not be simply things that you find interesting but rather key points the authors outline for learning.
Part II: Critique (200 words minimum)
Critique the chapters you have read. This is your opportunity to offer your thoughts on what you have read. What resonates with you? What do you think the authors need to do a better job explaining? What do you disagree with or not understand?
Part III: Questions
Pose one or two questions to the authors of our textbook. These questions should go beyond the reading and should not be answered elsewhere in the reading. Your question should demonstrate that you are thinking critically and deeply about the material.
Additional information:
Each reflection must be a minimum of 800 words and be academic in nature. Be sure to cite page numbers when referencing course material and/or using quotes. Note: Links to Google docs will not be accepted.

Which of the four components of emotional intelligence do you consider most important to an effective manager in today’s world?

Which of the four components of emotional intelligence do you consider most important to an effective manager in today’s world? Why?

Topic 2:
Expectancy theory suggests that motivation depends on individuals’ expectations about their ability to perform tasks and receive desired rewards. Expectancy theory is associated with the work of Victor Vroom, although a number of other scholars have also made contributions in this area.
Expectancy theory is concerned not with identifying types of needs, but rather with the thinking process that individuals use to achieve rewards.

E → P expectancy involves determining whether putting effort into a task will lead to high performance. For this expectancy to be high, the individual must have the ability, previous experience, and necessary equipment, tools, and opportunity to perform

P → O expectancy involves determining whether successful performance will lead to the desired outcome or reward. If the P → O expectancy is high, the individual will be more highly motivated. In contrast, if the expectancy is that high performance will not produce the desired outcome, motivation will be lower.

Valence is the value of outcomes, or attraction to outcomes, for the individual. If the outcomes that are available from great effort and good performance are not valued by employees, motivation will be low.

How is Expectacy theroy an effective way of motivaition? Please provide an example of expectacy motivational theory that has motivated you in a workplace or school setting.

What reason/s or arguments were given for conducting this research?

This is a 2 part order. The first part is a review of sources, and the second is the paper. For now I just need part 1 done, then after feedback from my professor I need part 2 completed.

Both parts are based off the following case study:

Case
Study 2: Looking at Policy Reform and Service Practices in a ‘Dry Shelter”
The North
Rochester New York St Paul homeless shelter has been around since the early 1980s. It has 35 beds for men and 25 for women
seeking shelter due to homelessness. It
has always operated as dry shelter, meaning persons who stay there must be
sober or not using alcohol or other drugs.
Recently
the new Program Director questioned the practice of only providing accommodation
and supports to persons who are sober. Her questioning of such practices
was prompted by a recent death of a homeless person who was turned away from an
overnight shelter stay at another local shelter, due to the fact that the man
was actively drinking when he came to the shelter. The man died from being
exposed to the harsh winter climate. This
got the program director to thinking: How many homeless persons on any given
night have to sleep rough due to their active use of alcohol? Is abstinence the best policy? Are they somehow doing a disservice to those
who have addiction problems, who are not ready to stop drinking?
The new
Program Director would like to make some changes with regards to the ‘dry’
policy, however she is not entirely sure if there is evidence that shows using
a Harm Reduction Model works. Or what
services would need to be developed in order to create resources that included
reducing the harmful effects of drinking.
The director asks you as the undergraduate social work student to do
some research on the Harm Reduction Model’ as applied to homeless shelters,
stating that she believes that the
current policy is not meeting some of the residents where they are at; meaning different
people need different supports and solutions. Very specifically, she has
as you to explore the research on harm reduction models as applied to homeless
shelters. She wants to know if such a
model has been shown to be detrimental in anyway and or if there is evidence
that it can actually help a person to become independent and if so, what
specifically appears to work? In fact,
she is not even sure about the prevalence of alcohol use, addiction or abuse
among the Rochester homeless population.
She would like you to research all of these things and write up your
results for her, so she can better understand the needs of the homeless
population as they pertain to alcohol use and the effectiveness of harm
reduction techniques.

Discuss one practice recommendation that you could make based on your analysis of the studies?

Review the data provided for appraisal of quantitative research where you will compare and contrast studies to draw conclusions. After reviewing the data presented in the table, use supportive evidence from the assigned reading in the course textbook to answer the following questions:
What two patterns in the study can you identify? (Consider the sample and its size, study methods and whether it was appropriate to test the data, similarities/differences in the findings, and statistical significance or p value).
What are the two strengths or limitations of the data?
Discuss one practice recommendation that you could make based on your analysis of the studies? Referring to the evidence presented, explain why you are recommending this practice change.

Explain your choice of decision-making model.

Competency
In this project, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following competency:
Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to solve problems and make decisions that impact organizations and their stakeholders
Scenario
You have been asked to present your data findings and decision-making modeling to the leadership panel for feedback prior to the stakeholder meeting presentation. The panel wants to preview the charts and graphs that will be included in your presentation based on the research you have conducted. They would like to see how you will use the data to inform your recommendation, and how you will tell the story of that data.
Directions
Part 1: Using the research gathered in Project One, provide a visualization for each of the following, then summarize what the data is showing:
The current state of the U.S. automotive manufacturing industry
Sales by fuel type (electric, hybrid, gas)
Current automotive industry trends
The trend toward different types of motors for the vehicles being made and sold, such as electric and hybrid
Trends in customer demands such as vehicle color, extra features, and styles
Trends in the body types of vehicles sold (SUVs, trucks, sedans)

Explain the knowledge you have gained useful to the field of cognitive psychology, the larger field of psychology, and society overall?

For
this assignment, you are tasked with completing a 6-8-page paper that
addresses the major structures of the brain and the influence these have
on cognition and learning. By completing this assignment, you will
demonstrate (a) an understanding of the major brain structures, (b)
fluency in the processes that occur within the brain, leading to the
learning of specific behaviors, and (c) the connections of the
relationships required between major brain structures and cognitive
functions to facilitate the learning process.
In completing the assignment, include the following, ensuring details are provided to fully elucidate the concepts presented:
Select 2-3 learning experiences, describing, in detail, how each experience generally occurs.
Examples
of learning experiences one might consider are learning to ride a bike,
learning a new language, learning to bake a cake, to name a few.
In describing each learning experience, identify at least 4 specific brain structures or functions that contribute to or impede the selected learning processes.
For each identified function or structure, describe and define the structure of the brain and purpose, with detail.
Include a diagram, a process model, or provide another visual representation
of the brain structures and functions depicting accurate examples of
the structural changes that might occur or steps in the process of the
learning tasks selected.
As
a major purpose of the work is to demonstrate an understanding of the
brain structures related to learning processes, close your work with a
succinct summary of the major aspects of the topic from the learning
experiences you selected.
Share
your conclusions as a result of completing this project; how is the
knowledge you have gained useful to the field of cognitive psychology,
the larger field of psychology, and society overall?
Include a minimum of 6 to 7 pages, not including APA formatted required title and reference pages; submit APA style in-text citations throughout the work as well.

What are the strengths and weaknesses of the management approach used?

For your Module 4 case study summary assignment, you will be writing a summary on the
Chapter 9 Case in the Kovner text “The Healthy Transitions Program in Late-Stage Kidney
Disease”
Limiting your summary to 250 words will be a difficult task that will force you deeply analyze
the important aspects of the case. The intent is not for you to do a quick read of the case and
give a broad overview of the situation. You are not answering the questions at the end of the
case. Your goal is to answer the following questions:
• Describe the evidence-based management approach used.
• What are the strengths and weaknesses of the management approach used?
• What other management challenges can the results of this case apply to?
• What are the limitations of applying these results?
