What are some of the most important ways that legal drug use differs from illegal use?

DISCUSSION 2
What are some of the most important ways that legal drug use differs from illegal use? What are some of the ways that instrumental drug use differs from recreational use? Provide examples of each type.
EXERCISE 2
Advocates of drug legalization have argued that alcohol is American society’s most harmful drug, and, hence, fairness would dictate that if alcohol is legal, the currently illicit drugs should be legalized as well. In the light of some of the points the author made in this chapter, evaluate this argument.

Then you design and write a Socratic Seminar Guide for a class discussion on your selected topic. A Socratic Seminar is similar to many of our class sessions, where open-ended questions are asked and multiple responses are given and discussed.

Notes of important points you would cover in a discussion on your topic. These can be complete sentences or bullet points.
A minimum of 4 interpretive questions that promote dialogue. An interpretive question is an open-ended question that may not be answered with a simple “yes” or “no,” and it does not have one correct answer. For example, this is an interpretive question: “In what ways did Imperial Rome’s dual sense of origin shape its republic?” This is not an interpretive question: “Did Rome’s dual sense of origin shape its republic?”
At least 1 possible response to 2 of your interpretive questions that is about a paragraph in length. This is simply one possible way to respond to the question.
