select a topic in psychology that is of interest to you.The first source of information needs to be empirically supported. Using the same topic, find another source and contrast the major differences between the two.

Locate two sources of information for this assignment. First, select a topic in psychology that is
of interest to you. It can be anything, but please make sure there is ample literature available to
complete the assignment. The first source of information needs to be empirically supported,
peer-reviewed article from a scholastic journal. Using the same topic, locate a second source of
information from an online resource similar to Wikipedia. In 500 to 750 words, contrast the
major differences between the two. You may wish to include sample size, empirical support for
the findings, lack of statistics presented, and just overall quality of writing. Please include these
two resources in your APA 6th edition reference page.

In this assignment you will locate, analyze, and write about 21st century uses in popular culture of imagery or ideas related to the Revolutionary era (roughly 1763 to 1783).

You may include with your essay with digital images, screen captures, or embedded links to the sources you found (at a minimum include links at the end with a brief explanation of what each URL links to).
Discuss the ways that the Revolution is used in your visual or textual sources, and consider the extent to which this is a subtle or overt attempt to persuade people about the product or campaign.
In your opinion, how effective are these depictions in persuading the viewer or reader?
How do these sources compare with the coverage of these topics in the US History textbook?
Finally, assess the historical accuracy of the images or rhetorical appeals: are these realistic representations of the historical events, or do these sources instead reinforce mythical or folkloric misunderstandings of the history?
You should have at least three specific examples in your essay, and stronger essays will also compare-and-contrast the sources.
Note: find specific references, as opposed to general themes like the American flag or the Tea Party movement. However, if you were to examine a political candidate affiliated with the Tea Party, this would be acceptable, as would the inclusion of the American flag in a discussion of other elements within a given advertising analysis.

perspectives in world literature

This first should explore some of the major themes we have read and written about so far in one or two works of literature (I suggest covering two texts if you choose shorter texts/poems, and one if it’s a longer text/essay). Your essay should be 3-5 pages and be in MLA format (double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 pt font, and with proper in-text and works cited page documentation). These should be well developed, argument-based essays in which you clearly state your interpretation of the text, and support that assertion with examples from the text. Be sure to make the focus of your essay the literature we’ve read, as opposed to some of the context about literature and history we’ve read. IF you use these context readings as all, keep it to a minimum using only one or two context references in your essay. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER SOURCES besides the Norton Anthology to write your essay.
Introduction and Thesis (one paragraph)-Your paper should begin by stating the general topic and themes you’ll write about, stating your text (full title and author’s full name), a brief summary of the narrative or essay, and some context (when it was written and any relevant historical background). Your thesis should be stated at the end of the Introduction paragraph, and should make an assertion about the way you think the text(s) should be read and what you think they mean overall. It should be argumentative and analytical, not merely observational. Consider ANSWERING any one of these question in developing a thesis statement:
FORM: how does the way the text is written help you understand the overall meaning?
IDENTITY: how does, culture, race, nationality of characters help you understand overall meaning?
Nature of REALITY: what interesting conclusions does the text draw about nature, reality, or humanity?
Body paragraphs-Here is where you support the way you think the text(s) by closely examining specific characters, scenes and examples from the primary text(s) — that is, the literature, not the background reading about the literature. Give your paragraphs clear topic sentences/points of focus. Focus on aspects that you find most interesting, subtle, clever or skillful – you should NOT go through summarizing or paraphrasing the surface meaning of the text(s).
Each body paragraph should contain at least one (two is probably safer) direct quotations from your primary text(s). Read this to learn about how to use quotations well: https://writingcommons.org/avoid-dropped-quotations
Conclusion-Here, bring your discussion to a close thoughtfully, rather than by mechanically repeating what you’ve already said. It can be helpful to emphasize your main points with a small bit of repetition, but add some reflection on such topics as the value of analyzing the text(s) this way for contemporary readers, or the ways that your analysis helps readers understand the social contexts of the periods they were written in. In other words, it should answer the question: “So What?”

the negative impact that social media has on the mental health of adolescents

Janet, you competed this already but can we add a couple of things. I turned the rough draft in and the professor requested that I have this information added B and C. Thanks
Each

Health Police

This week you are split into your project groups for discussion. In your project groups this week I want you to start brainstorming ideas about health policies that you could investigate for your policy project. You may have already started doing so, but give me a glimpse into where you are at through your discussion board.
What health issues are you most concerned about related to the overuse of technology or underutilization of natural spaces?
What populations are you most concerned about regarding the issues you are discussing?
At what level do you want to address this issue (e.g., national, organizational, community, individual, etc.)?
What sort of behaviors do you want to change?
Kendra Babitz gave some examples of what she called “problem statements” – I would call those “policy statements” because she included solutions in those statements as well. As you brainstorm with your group, try to emulate those statements:
Clearly state the problem (which includes who is the target population);
why it matters;
and what is a potential solution.
Throw out ideas to your groupmates and have a discussion – and try to settle on a broad topic that interests your group, even if you don’t end up using one of the specific problem statements you craft in this discussion. Post your own problem/policy statement by Thursday, and then be sure to respond to your peers by Sunday.
Have someone from your group send me a message with the topic your group is considering – it doesn’t have to be your final decision, so you can change you mind if you decide to go in a different direction, but I want to get a sense of where everyone is at by the end of the weekend.

Choose one term that Grady uses and apply it to the environment around where you live — what is one way this term helps you understand how that area has been shaped by human-made or natural elements?

In Close Up: How to Read an American City Grady Clay explains the ways that a city’s particular places, people, and activities make it unique. As you read, make note of the different terms he introduces that help explain a city’s details.
