Psychology experimenttal reasearh

Researchers often use a method called an experiment in order to study the causes of human and animal behavior. Design such an experiment based on a change in behavior you have observed in yourself or your roommates this past semester (e.g., eating or sleeping habits, exercise regime, game playing, etc.). Select a behavior that you are particularly interested in studying, and then design the experiment to investigate a possible cause of that behavior. Address the following questions.
What is the hypothesis you will test in your experiment?
What are the independent and dependent variables?
Who will be the subjects or participants in your study?
What are the experimental and control group conditions? Here, you may assume that you have the resources necessary to conduct your experiment and that you can control, or manipulate, the environment of your subjects as necessary. For example, suppose your hypothesis is as follows: Higher levels of stress from a heavy course workload increase eating activity. Assume that you have the ability to control the workload, etc., of your subjects.
How will you assign your subjects to groups?
What are the possible results of your study, and what might these results indicate about your hypothesis?

Richard II and the Great Chain of Being

This is the discussion forum for those who did not attend the in-person section for this week. Remember the guidelines for posting on the discussion board: One substantial post (300-500 words preferred) along with a substantial comment on one of your fellow classmates’s posts (if other posts are available). This is meant to be a respectful forum in which you work out your ideas, so please treat your classmates with the respect that you yourself would want to be treated with. I will be checking into these forums from time to time and even posting in them myself if I so fancy doing such a thing.
For this week, I would like you consider this week’s overarching concern with the Great Chain of Being and its influence on both Early Modern English society/politics and, specifically for this course, Richard II. Following this, I would like you to select a scene from Shakespeare’s play and examine how it troubles particular conceptions of the Great Chain of Being and its influence on society (for example, the issue of succession and what gives a monarch their authority to rule, as we discussed during section this past Tuesday).

What are the main things you do as a manager in terms of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling?

I
would like for you to choose a manager/leader to interview. It can be
your boss, a parent, a friend, or anyone you know to be a
manager/leader. The main point of this interview is to really get into
the nature of what they do as a manager. I am also interested to see
why they are successful and what they think it takes to really succeed
as a manager and to push their organization to truly succeed. Be sure
you tell who they are, who they work for, who/what in general they
lead/manage, years experience, other major roles they have served in,
and anything else you can think of to help me understand the manager’s
position. You can ask them any questions you like, but let me request
that you get into these types of questions.
1. What are the main things you do as a manager in terms of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling?
2. How is being a manager different from what you did when you weren’t a manager?
3. What are the most difficult aspects or most challenging parts of
your job as a manager? What are the parts that you enjoy the most?
4. What are the most important skills and abilities that managers have to possess to be successful?
5. Give us some of the most important things you have learned over
the years about being a great manager/leader and building a very
positive and successful organization/department.
6. I am especially interested in their dealings with other people
in the organization. Do they have major conflicts? What do they look
for in the people they hire? etc.
Again, you can use your discretion in the interview questions but
really try to get into the details of the tasks, skills, challenges,
joys, required competence, etc. of the management job.

practice plan

Practice Plan
For this assignment you will create a practice plan that will prepare you to take your place as a clinical mental health counselor who serves a selected population in your community. Completing this assignment will require you to think about the context in which you will someday serve clients—the historical context, the network of mental health services currently available to clients in your community, and the labor market context that may influence your selected area of practice. This assignment will also invite you to envision yourself participating in a professional organization that supports clinical mental health counselors and the counseling profession.
Using SafeAssign
This course requires you to use the SafeAssign tool. The SafeAssign source matching tool is available to you via a link in the courseroom. SafeAssign supports the development of your skills in preparing written coursework. Use your originality report to help ensure that you have used outside sources ethically and effectively.
Note: Submitting a draft of your work to SafeAssign allows you make revisions before submitting it as your final work for grading. Submitting an assignment to SafeAssign does not submit the work to the course room for evaluation. This must be done separately; look for directions at the end of the assignment instructions.
Note: Use the Practice Plan Template in the Resources to complete this assignment.
Begin the assignment with the section labeled Historical Background. In this section:
Identify a population whom you would like to counsel someday (for example, children, teens, seniors, LGBTQ individuals, individuals with a particular disability or disorder). Provide reasons why you think you would find this area of counseling rewarding.
Concisely summarize key factors pertinent to the history and development of this area of clinical mental health counseling, including key events that have influenced counseling services available for this population.
The next section is Network and Practice:
Conduct an Internet search of all agencies that offer mental health services for your selected population in your community. Describe the network of mental health counseling services available for a client from your selected population across the continuum of care, considering inpatient, outpatient, partial treatment, and aftercare options.
Identify a potential professional niche for yourself within this network of services. Review information available in O*Net’s Summary Report for: 21-1014.00 – Mental Health Counselors, the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT), and the Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) provided in the Resources. Analyze the skills, educational requirements, and average earnings of a counselor working in your area of interest in your state.
The next section is Supervision and Consultation:
Until you are fully licensed, you are required to work under the supervision of an experienced mental health professional. After reviewing the ACA Code of Ethics and the requirements for your state, describe plans for receiving clinical supervision to help you make ethical and legal decisions on the job.
After licensure, the professional counselor has the right to consult with a colleague on any case, particularly when there is the potential for serious or foreseeable harm to the client or others. Describe resources in your professional community with whom you could engage in case consultation. Identify practices you would use so that your case consultation would meet ethical and legal requirements.
The next section is Professional Organizations:
In this section, identify several national, state, regional, or special interest professional organizations that will support your practice as a professional counselor. Describe several ways in which you will benefit from affiliation with these professional counseling organizations.
In the last section Appendix A: Professional Counseling Disclosure Statement:
Using feedback you received in the discussion in this unit, prepare a hypothetical Professional Counseling Disclosure Statement that would meet ethical and legal standards for practice for you to work with an individual in your chosen private counseling setting, after you are fully licensed in your state. Include disclosure of the certifications, licenses, and credentials that you would need to acquire, as well as professional organization memberships that would support your area of expertise.
Review the scoring guide in the Resources to make sure you understand how this assignment will be graded.
Submission Requirements
Your paper should meet the following requirements:
Written communication: Write coherently to support central ideas, with correct grammar, usage, and mechanics.
Length of paper: 4–5 typed, double-spaced pages, not including the title page and reference page. (Do not include an abstract.)

Discuss how you can improve your health and longevity in light of your findings on this assignment, your understanding of stress, and your knowledge of your family history.

Watch the video below on the work of Robert Sapolsky who studies stress (this is a short version; if you want to see the entire video, you can find it here: https://youtu.be/AYFZAYenR20). Begin your paper by defining stress in your own words and discussing your reaction to the video. Consider the stressful events you have encountered in the previous two year period.

2. Interview your family members and find out which stress-related disease(s) you are most at risk for. Here is a link to a WebMD page that discusses 10 stress-related diseases: https://www.webmd.com/balance/stress-management/features/10-fixable-stress-related-health-problems#1 (you can make this one up)

4. Research and locate one article on stress and whatever disease you are most at risk for (select a study on research conducted on humans) from a reputable academic source:
Reputable Sources:
journal articles
government publications based on research
Do not use:
magazines of any sort, whether they are on paper or online
Websites of any type, including epigenetics websites
Wikipedia
How to Perform Your Research
Use the College Library in person or online (log in with your new MDC ID number (the one that is all numbers). Your password is the last four digits of that same MDC ID unless you have changed it.
Read the stress article you find. Continue your paper with a discussion of the stress article. Be sure to paraphrase (put things in your own words) and be sure to cite the author(s) of the article you find using APA style (see the section below on using APA style). Aim for about a page for this part of your paper.
5. Discuss the concept of stress in light of your family history and the article you read. Aim for one page for this section of your paper. Here are some topics you can discuss. You are not required to discuss these but they may be useful to you:
How do you create stress in your own life?
How could you change the nature of our society to make it less stressful?
It could be said that some stress comes from leading “out-of-balance” lives. What can people do to “keep it simple”? Furthermore, in what ways can individuals control the stressors they will encounter beforehand?
How could you change the way in which you interact with your school demands or your work demands to change the amount of stress that you feel?
6. Discuss how you can improve your health and longevity in light of your findings on this assignment, your understanding of stress, and your knowledge of your family history. This should be your final page.
You can go over or under a page for any of the sections of the paper as long as your total paper is 1,000 words not counting the references.
General Rules for an “A” Paper (check your paper against this list)
