When reading a book report I am interested primarily in two things. I want to read a summary of the material that highlights the most important parts of the book. Equally important is taking that material and examining it. The best way this is done is by comparing the information you learned in this book to other material you have learned. You can also examine the material on its own merits. However, this does not involve an opinion section for advocating or expressing sentiments. For example, if I gave a history of a theory and then in my analysis I made an offhand remark say that was bad would not give any insight to the reader.
I’m also looking for thoroughness, clarity in writing, and original insights. I’m not looking for perfection but will mark papers if errors distract from reading. This material will be examined by turn it in for plagiarism issues.
Unfortunately, plagiarism is a problem.
