2. In a Word document, respond (agree or disagree) to each of the following statements succinctly, but with detail.
• Children never have sleep issues unless they intake too much sugar in their diet.
• Sleep disorders come in only three main forms, one related to narcolepsy, one related to sleep apnea, and the other related to the inability to stay awake due to stress.
• The use of over-the-counter sleep aids should be encouraged over prescription sleep aids as they are safer and are not habit-forming in any way.

3. The thoughts and opinions you have about clients will influence your treatment of them. To discover your own assumptions about those with mental health disorders, answer the following questions based on your own thoughts and opinions. There are no right or wrong answers.
• What causes the movement on the adaptive–maladaptive mental health continuum? That is, what motivates people to exhibit maladaptive behaviors?
• How will you measure therapeutic success? Take into account the degree of maladaptation possible.
• Describe your thoughts/beliefs about the following:
o Mental illness

• How long are these holds for your state and to have them extended what is required?
• Think about either your current place of employment or current clinical site.
7. What are some potential biases you may have with a patient making suicidal statements?
• If you have dealt with this, how did it go? If you have not yet, how do you think it will go?
8. For the following side effects, what are the options you can provide patients with?
• Think about the risk/benefit of stopping, switching, or adding medication.
• Explain the rationale for your decision:

INTRODUCTION AND MORAL THEORY

Go to the survey exercises in the online game, “Would You Eat Your Cat,” at https://www.philosophyexperiments.com/cat/Default.aspxhttps://www.philosophyexperiments.com/cat/Default.aspxhttps://www.philosophyexperiments.com/cat/Default.aspx. (posted by The Philosophers’ Magazine). These exercises are interesting ones. What they try to do is measure the degree to which your moral sensibilities track your emotional reactions (i.e., do you find actions immoral because you find them “yukky”?); and also the degree to which your moral sensibilities track factors concerning harm (i.e., do you find actions immoral because they hurt either their committers or others?)

You are presented with four “preliminary” questions (the author mistakenly says “five, three extended examples, a summary, a review of the three scenarios in light of this summary, a request for some statistical information, some further analyses, and a set of fonclusions (in which the program offers some final suggestions and conclusions in light of your answers).

I would like you to do the exercises and then write a paper. In the paper, describe your results (the answers you give to all of the questions asked, including the “preliminary questions”) as well as the statistical averages the game provides you (the percentage of people who agree with you). Then ask yourself if you agree with the analysis the program provides

I am not asking for “right” answers. I am asking for reflective answers. Suppose you think an action is immoral even though no one is hurt by it. Don’t just say that you find their action yucky. Try to articulate why. If you don’t know where to start, write down a reaction and then comment on that. I just want to try to articulate your own moral intuitions sincerely. For that alone, you are guaranteed a passing grade on this assignment.

While doing these exercises, think about moral deliberation as we characterized in class (i.e., a process of reflective equilibrium through which we endeavor to reconcile our general moral principles with our moral reactions in particular cases). Ask yourself the following question: do you think, in light of the exercises, that you are driven most by general moral principles or by particular emotional reactions to particular situations.

Aim for a length of 4-5 pages, even though your exact length will obviously depend on your ability to be clear and concise.

Before you start writing, go to the following site and look at a short presentation by Prezi explaining what such a paper should look like (regarding organization and structure, not content) https://prezi.com/z4h1_fwilbxj/a-sample-philosophy-paper/Links to an external site.. HIST820 week4: Syllabus: Residential Course Assignment

INSTRUCTIONS
Each student will create a sample syllabus for a 16-week residential course. As a reminder, this
syllabus must be developed using the same course used for the Syllabus: Online Course
Assignment.
Your residential syllabus can follow any format, but must include the following information:
 Course Name
 Rationale
 Description
 Course Learning Outcomes
 Grade Scale
 Late Policy
 Course Reading Material, including full bibliographical information
 Course Schedule
Course Schedule: Module Titles with brief (3-5 sentence description) of content covered in each
module, as well as at least 1 assignment with total point value and the title of one presentation
per week. These presentations are ones that you, as instructor, would make yourself for an actual
class. You do not need to describe the assignments or presentations. Please make sure that your
assignments add up to 1000 points.
Course Reading Material: You also need to include book chapters or article titles for readings
each week.
Grade Scale and Late Policy: Your syllabus should also include a grade scale and late policy.
If you want, you can use those from this course or any other course you’ve had before. Those
need not be original.
Note: This 16-week syllabus is the same course as the 8-week course, so you will need to adjust
your modules, readings, assignments, and presentations accordingly. Also, when outlining your
modules for a 16 week course, don’t forget holiday breaks!

MUST USE TEXTBOOK ON EBOOK & OUTSIDE SOURCES

Professional memo SQL

University Memo
Your manager wants to investigate moving to a simpler, more streamlined way of doing business. She thinks that SQL is too complicated for staff and has asked you to make a flat file with an alternate arrangement of the student data (e.g. similar to an Excel file).
You will NOT create the flat file, but for information the flat file would include columns for:
• Student first and last name
• Student major
• Student GPA
• Course number, description, and units
• Offering term
• Faculty first and last name
You have some concerns about moving your entire university operations out of SQL to this flat file format.
Write your boss a memo,
• Outlining any concerns or hesitations you have about moving to this format for management of your data.
• Include the pros and cons of the relational database format and the flat file format.
• Be sure to think critically, and include at least TWO problematic use case scenarios. A ‘problematic use scenario’ would be a specific example of how converting the database to a flat file would create a ‘use’ problem for the university and university staff in managing data.
Additional instructions
• Be sure to review the PowerPoint presentation (in pdf format) Effective Professional Memo Writing that accompanies these instructions.
• Your memo may benefit from outside research, however, the entire memo must be in your own words. Any ideas or concepts used from the course content in earlier weeks (in particular the Database Concepts Module) need only have ‘basic attribution’ (mention the source, the article, presentation and/or the author, but full APA documentation is not required).
• Paragraph text should be single spaced with ONE ‘hard return’ (Enter) after each paragraph and after each section subtitle. Note: Do not create a new ‘paragraph’ after each sentence. A single sentence is not a paragraph.
• Be sure to remove any remaining ‘placeholder’ text in the template file before submitting.
• The length of the template that you download is NOT the intended length of the entire memo. Your completed memo should be between 1.5 pages and 2 pages (total document, including the To:/From:/Re:/Subject header).
A page target of 1.5 – 2 pages, single spaced is suggested; however, there are no length requirements or restrictions. You must use the attached template for the assignment, without changing any fonts.
Rubric:
Score
Definition
90 – 100%
Exceeds Expectations. These memos are really exceptional. They meet all the criteria of the “meets expectations” memo, and go beyond in some meaningful way. The “beyond” may be in very illustrative and detailed use case scenarios, critical thinking regarding additional components of databases such as security, or it may be in additional background research to provide additional perspectives. The business case is clear and easy to follow. Demonstrates mastery of the data management and SQL techniques we have covered in class. No typographical or grammatical mistakes.
80 – 89%
Meets Expectations. A memo which meets expectations will earn this score. This type of memo will typically be reasonably easy to follow, with good writing style. It will contain a clear recommendation about whether to move to the flat file and relevant reasons supporting the recommendation. It will outline use case scenarios where relevant. It will also contain solid understanding of the relational database concepts and data management concepts we have covered in class, and will tie this case study into our class work. Typographical and grammatical mistakes are few (1-2) to none; any errors do not obscure meaning or readability.
60-79%
Meets some, but not all Expectations. Some of the expectations above will be met, but others are not. The instructor will provide additional detail.
0 – 59%
Does Not Meet Expectations. This type of memo may not contain a clear recommendation about whether to move to a flat file format. It may contain insufficient reasons supporting the recommendation, and may not contain detailed or relevant use case scenarios. It may show incomplete or incorrect understanding of relational database and data management concepts. It may show weak ties into class work. May have major typographical or grammatical errors.

careers in chemistry

Hello students,This week we will be doing something slightly different. You will be responsible for a 5 page(minimum), double-spaced, typed, size 14 font paper. It is ok if the paper exceeds 5 pages. Theremust be title page and a reference page. This is in addition to the 5 pages of content. So the total willbe 7 pages. The topic of this paper will be careers in chemistry. You must highlight 5 careers. Eachone should entail a description of the job (What do they do?), education required (What type ofdegree is required), expected salary (what type of salary should you expect?), Where do theytypically work? Jurnee Moe

Behavior: Met with client Via Telehealth in home. During assessment, client exhibited symptoms of depression and explained that
she has experienced emotional abuse from her father. “All of this is happening to me out of nowhere. I’lI be okay one day, and
sad and crying out of no where another. I get agitated with my family and brush them off when they try to help me. My father
yells at me and threatens to throw my things out. Later, he will say to me ‘you don’t love me’. I don’t talk to him as much
now, but I talked to him 4 days ago and he yelled at me.” Today she was very calm and explained that screams trigger
her depression. “Yelling breaks me down. When I cry, my hands and legs shake.” She was flat when expressing that does not
wish to mend a relationship with her father. Client reported that she had thoughts of suicide years ago but does have those
thoughts presently. “I told my group chat I wanted to kill myself and they said I just wanted attention. I turned my phone off and they sent me so many messages.”

Intervention:
Using CBT techniques, talk therapy was used to validate, and support Journee’s experiences with depression by encouraging
her to express and process her feelings of sadness. I challenged Journees negative thinking when she said “I feel like
an outcast. The other kids have group chats without me and when I tried to help them with their work, they said that I think
that I’m all that.” by identifying and adjusting her thoughts to be more accurate, I assured her by saying, “You are not an
outcast, you’re a leader. When you’re in grade school it feels like you have to ‘fit in’ but instead of being a group thinker, you
are an independent thinker, traits like that tend to give you an advantage in life when applied correctly. I recommended that
the client list three positive words she would use to describe herself “funny, caring, shy”, then list three strengths “painting,
drawing, writing poems” I feel that this could be used as a coping skill for Journee when se begins to feel depressed.

Response:
When inquiring about stressors, Journee responded by detailing that a lot of her depression is linked to her past trauma with
her father. “He yelled at me and embarrassed me at the mall in front of everyone. When people yell at me, I just shut down
now. I was scared of him when I was younger, but not now. Right now, I have no emotions towards him, and we don’t really
talk. My mom told me that before I was born, she pulled out a knife on him and when the fblice made it there, he cut himself
and lied on my mom and told the officers that she cut him” Journee was very engaged during our conversation and was open
to meeting regularly. She is now home-schooled but wants to be around more people her age. Journee also may be
experiencing some struggles with her self-image “My teacher body shamed me for wearing short shorts, my shorts were the
same length as another girls, but I was told that my shorts were too small.” She revealed that when she was sad, she
intentionally made herself throw up when her mother forced her to et her food. When inquiring about this, she assured that
this was a one-time occurrence. At the end of the session, she agreed to wanting to attend more sessions to assist with these
emodons

Plan:
Next appointment scheduled April ‘1 4th. Will continue to address client’s symptoms of depression, develop better coping skill
for depression, increase self-confidence and monitor any potential suicidal ideations.
Strengths:

Kai Liles

Benavior:
A flat behavior was displayed when observing Kai during her session. The details Kai provided about her day-to-day chores,
schoolwork. emotions. and interests were extremely detailed. “My grades are great! I’m disappointed today because I have to clean my room. Every day I have to clean the dog’s room after I do my homework.” Speaking of her prior experiences with therapy, she said she had previously had a therapist who stopped showing up. “My mom was really mad with my other therapist because he said that his friend had covid and he had to take care of him and couldn’t return to work. I think that it was okay that he had had to take care of his friend but she was mad.” Kai also described her perception of therapy. “Therapy is like people asking questions about your life. You have to tell them the correct thing.” Kai was able sit still the entire interview but stopped speaking periodically when her mother came near. Kai was removed from class to participate in the session, while her mother stood outside of the car for privacy. When her mother would sit inside to warm up. Kai’s responses
were more flat than when she was alone

Intervention:
When Kai was asked to describe her typical school day and the tasks she would perform during that day, CBT Talk Therapy was used as an aid to assist her with attention deficit disorder. As opposed to asking her a series of in-depth questions, I broke down the questions into smaller parts so that she could better explain what her days are like by describing each part of the day. Additionally, I requested her to describe what causes her to become distracted and what she does to avoid it. “I know
when I aet distracted because | get bored. Ijust start looking around around my legs shake.

Response:
Kai was very responsive, and she was able to effectively explain. her frustrations as well as describe a schedule that had been made in order to keep her organized in the future. As a result of sharing her perspective, she was able to describe how easily she becomes frustrated and distracted, and how these are qualities she would like to improve in the future. “When I finish my work it’s hard to sit still.” Kai told me when I asked her what her distractions are when she finishes her work.

Plan:
During the sessions that are to be held in the future, I intend to assist my client in becoming more organized, focusing on schoolwork, paying attention and listening to others, becoming better acquainted with others, and having fewer behavioral issues. Additionally, I want to help Kai improve her ability to cope with feeling agitated by helping her develop better coping

Michelle Corona

Behavior: When I assessed Michelle, I noticed that she appeared a bit anxious at times. Although this was supposed to be an individual session, there were people around her who were watching. It was evident that she was hesitant to tell me anything wen answerng a few questions. During the course of our conversation. Michelle shared her interest in makeup YouTube videos and parenthood. During the session, she detailed her aspirations to become an ultrasound technician in the future. In our discussion of anxiety, Michelle described in detail what the sensation of anxiety was like for her and how it impacted her life.
Whenever she has to take tests. she will sweat a lot. her breathing is unstead. and she is unable to focus on the task at hand.

Intervention:

It was determined that Michelle would experience anxiety as a result of the role-play and scenano that was created with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. After I inauired into what she does in order to reduce her anxiety, she replied. “I take deep
breaths as one of the things that she goes.

Response:
As Michelle explained in such a clear and concise manner, past experiences with bullying may have been a contributing factor to her current anxiety symptoms. In the process of relocating schools, Michelle felt the need to regroup in a hurry. “I was getting bullied badly.” Michelle talked about how she was being mistreated by her peers at and her previous high school, and how they would mistreat her for no apparent reason. As a result of switching schools, she states that she is happier and has more supportive friends now as a result. The majority of her responses to my questions were short and brief, and most of the answers to my questions were either yes or no in nature. As I sensed that she would not be comfortable with self-revealing, I changed the subject and asked her about her child since could sense that she was a bit uncomfortable. She explained that the baby was sick last week, which caused a delay in therapy.

Plan: In order to helo her manage her emotions and reduce mood swings, I plan to implement positive coping skills and communication skills to help manage her emotions. It is my goal to assist Michelle in improving the way she interacts with ochers ane mange ver anxiety .
