Literary Comparison Analysis Argument

I have attached the Essay Requirements, but I will need a rough draft also that is at least 500 words.
There are multipe stories that we could use but I will attatch two groups of two stories that correlate to each other. So you can have a choice on which stories you want to use, the topics are listed on the Essay Project File. As soon as you are done with the roug draft could you please send it? This is because I have to submit a peer review.

Story that correlates to the lesson:

Steps to Complete Week 5 Lab

Use the Weeks 3 and 5 spreadsheets from the Weeks 3 and 5 Lessons to help you answer the questions below.

Step 1: Your instructor will provide you with 10 values to use for this lab.

Gather 10 MORE of your own to add to the 10 provided by your instructor. Do the following:

Survey or measure 10 people to find their heights. Determine the mean and standard deviation for the 20 values by using the Week 3 Excel spreadsheet. Post a screen shot of the portion of the spreadsheet that helped you determine these values. How does your height compare to the mean (average) height of the 20 values? Is your height taller, shorter, or the same as the mean of the sample?

Note: The following image is just an example. They are NOT the values you should be using for your lab. Your instructor should have sent you our data values for your Week 5 Lab. Please reach out to your instructor if you do not have your data values.

Data Example of 10 people with different heights

(your spreadsheet will have 20 values—10 from your instructor and 10 from your own data gathering).

Step 2: Give some background information on the group of people you used in your study. You might consider using the following questions to guide your answer.

How did you choose the participants for your study? What was the sampling method: systematic, convenience, cluster, stratified, simple random?
What part of the country did your study take place in?
What are the age ranges of your participants?
How many of each gender did you have in your study?
What are other interesting factors about your group?
Step 3: Use the Week 5 Excel spreadsheet for the following.

(Use the Empirical Rule tab from the spreadsheet). Determine the 68%, 95%, and 99.7% values of the Empirical Rule in terms of the 20 heights in your height study.
What do these values tell you?
Post a screen shot of your work from the Week 5 Excel spreadsheet.

(Use the normal probability tab from the spreadsheet). Based on your study results, what percent of the study participants are shorter than you? What percent are taller than you?
Post a screen shot of your work from the Week 5 Excel spreadsheet.

Example: If my height is 73 inches, then 20.86% of the relevant population is shorter. The other 79.14%, of course, is taller.

Step 4: Be sure your name is on the Word document, save it, and then submit it under “Assignments” and “Week 5: Lab”.

Requirements

The deliverable is a Word document with your answers to the questions posed below based on the data you find.

Required Software

Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel

-Select a topic Student has interest and some degree of passion for (he project reveals Student’s interest and passion)

Goal: Allow Student the chance to demonstrate her ability to gather information from different informational texts and synthesize such information into a coherent argument about her chosen topic.
Process:
-Select a topic Student has interest and some degree of passion for.
– Find 5 sources on her chosen topic.
– Try to make sure sources are varied in type (not all are articles..maybe some are interviews that have been recorded…or TedTalks….or interviewing somebody she herself knows who has expertise on the topic…or listening to a documentary or Podcast).
– Develop a question that would be of interest to other people who care about the topic (NOT the general public who might know nothing about it).
– Answer the question in a project that reviews and analyzes the research found. Ideally this would be an outline, as well as one completed body section of the essay (Likely about 700 words). If this is not possible an annotated bibliography or oral discussion of the project would be possible. Some other “document” such as PowerPoint or recorded video would be acceptable as well. Whatever format is chosen should be agreed to do by all as soon as reasonable.
Rubric: Where specific differences between A/B/C/D/F are not described, it is based on a more holistic approach to the standard (how does it “feel”?).
– The project reveals Student’s interest and passion
– The project is based on at least 5 sources (A C will have at least 5…a B or A will have more)
– The nature of the sources is varied (An A must have at least two different source types).
– Specific evidence from sources (quotes or stats for example) is used throughout the project (An A or B will have at least two cited examples from each source, a C will have one from each source, a D will have evidence from some sources but not all, and an F will lack cited evidence).
– Essay is based around 2-3 arguments that help answer the question. (An A will have three strong arguments, A B will have 2, A C will have 2, but they may not be strong, and a D will have weak arguments or be very summary based. An F will be entirely based in summary as opposed to making arguments).
– All evidence is explained in ways that offer clear answers to questions given (An A will explain each piece of evidence with multiple sentences, a B will explain all evidence but
only SOME evidence with multiple sentences, a C will not explain evidence well or be missing some evidence, a D will offer very limited explanation or missing much evidence, and an F will lack evidence to explain)
– By the end of the project, a clear, well supported answer to the question will have emerged.
– An A or B will talk about limits to the answer (why there are some parts of the answer that seem unsatisfactory or why sources had some gaps that indicate not enough research is really present yet).
– The project shows good language skills: word choice is appropriate for the assignment; it is free from errors in word choice and grammar.
– The project is clearly organized into intro/body/conclusion (Suggestions for what sections should look like can be found on classroom…printed copies will be available on request).

5.2 Discussion: Muscular Injury

Have you or someone you know ever had a muscular injury, pathology, or problem (cramps, “charlie horse,” etc.) Describe what the damage was?, How it happened?, And what treatments (even if it is just ibuprofen, for example) were used?.
Recall the topic of homeostasis. The muscular system does more than just “contract.” Please describe in detail two functions of the muscular system, excepting contraction by itself, that help maintains homeostasis.

Your initial post should be 150-180 words (~ 2 paragraphs). Show that you can think critically on the topic by integrating your own thoughts, analysis, or experiences. The posting is intended to be a discussion and should be written in your own words. If you do research, the topic or use your textbook as a reference, remember to cite your references at the bottom of the post. Be sure to pay close attention to your form and grammar AND check for spelling errors.
