This reflection should be 2-3 pages long. You are reflecting on all three parts of our veteran’s health series and chapters 7 & 9 of your textbook readings.
Purpose: The purpose of the reflections is to demonstrate that you have attended or reviewed the veteran’s health sessions and understand its key points.
Skills: The reflections will provide an opportunity for students to practice the following:
Synthesizing information from the sessions and textbook readings on health and mental health, identifying the key points and takeaways
Utilizing your article summaries or textbook readings to supplement learning from the veteran unit.
Develop critical thinking by relating the information from the sessions to the daily world you live in
Knowledge: The reflections will help you recall what you learned in the three sessions. The textbook readings on health and mental health should be used when completing your reflections to help you stress key points. Be sure to use APA for each citation.
Tasks: The Textbook Chapter Reflections will occur in the following sequence:

Your reflection should contain two to three pages that answer the following three questions:
What was your biggest takeaway that was new to you that you learned in the sessions and textbook readings on health and mental health?
What would you like to know more about or what questions do you still have?
What can you point to that shows a connection between what you read about and what is going on around you in real life?

Writing Approach
In this essay assignment, description will be the dominant technique used to develop a distinct impression of your topic. Remember that description must appeal to the senses: taste, touch, sound, sight, smell. While you need not appeal to every sense in your essay, be sure to give the reader enough description so that he/she can be a part of your topic’s development. You may certainly use figurative language in your descriptions – simile, metaphor, personification, etc. In any case, be aware of your audience (your classmates) and your tone. Your choice of words may greatly influence your reader’s impression of your topic. Be careful to present your topic as you would like it to be interpreted.
