ISearch essay
This paper should be written in the first person (use “I”), and it is written in three sections.
When you are finished, the paper will be at least 4 pages, not including the Works Cited page.
SECTION 1: INTRODUCE THE TOPIC
Before you begin, please identify a future career. What can you see yourself doing in 5-10 years in the future? How will you get “from here to career”?
The first section of your paper is your opportunity to introduce your topic and your research question and give reasons why you have chosen this topic to investigate.
Begin with a narrative.
Tell what questions you have about this career.
Discuss what you think you will find when you are done with your investigation (your hypothesis).
SECTION 2: RESEARCH
In the second section, discuss what you did to find out more information on your topic.
Tell the reader where you looked, who you talked to, and what you did to research this topic.
For each piece of research information you gather:
Introduce the source of the information.
Give the information you found by quoting or paraphrasing it.
Cite the source using parenthetical documentation according to MLA 9th ed. guidelines.
Explain how that information contributes to your understanding of the topic.
Make sure you tie your research, as a whole, into your topic. Discuss how the research illuminates, explains, or adds to your knowledge of your future career.
SECTION 3: WRAP IT UP
The third section is your opportunity to wrap it all up. Synthesize (condense, bring together) all the information you learned in this research.
Introduce this section by giving a brief synopsis of the research you did.
Now that you have all the facts, what do they mean? How do they tie back into the future of your career?
How accurate was your original hypothesis?
Now that you are finished with the investigation, has it changed your initial perception of your future career? Now that you know what you know, what skills do you think you need to learn to be competitive?
WORKS CITED
Please make sure you gather your sources for the Works Cited page as you investigate. Each source must be correctly cited in MLA style WITHOUT annotations or numbers. It must be formatted correctly!!
Health Consumerism Reflection
According to a Nielson report, the average American watches about 4 hours of TV each day and in 2019 a 30 second commercial to be aired costs on average 104.7 thousand dollars (Gutman, A. 2019).
What is the impact of societal messaging on stereotypes and bias in healthcare?
The images and messaging we receive in our daily lives impacts the decisions we make; whether about the people around us or our health. Take note of the racial demographic, relationship dynamics, and products or services being marketed on commercials. After watching 5-6 commercials, focus on 2 that stood out to you in your reflection. Consider the following in your discussion:
Who do you think the targeted audience is and why?
Are any of the commercials focusing on improving health?
If related to health, is it focused on prevention, maintenance, or reactive medicine?
Imagine what it would be like watching these commercials if an aspect of your intersectionality was different. Does that change your experience watching the commercial?
How do these commercials make you feel or influence your purchasing decisions?
Your reflection must be double-spaced, 1-inch margins, paginated, and 12-point Times Roman Font. You do not need to use references or include a title page and abstract.

U1D2 Functional Assessment in behavior analysis (Ed/teaching)
Functional Assessment in behavior analysis
In “Behavior Analysis for Effective Teaching” (chapter attached) Vargas describes several “causal” variables that do not help in teaching. Explain what these causal variables are and why they don’t help. Which causal variables do help? How can teachers assess these variables effectively via functional assessment?
References must be peer-reviewed (not websites or dissertations)
Everything in basic statistics.
Using the example below, please write a 3-page (minimum) paper, APA style (no outside references needed). This is three pages of content (the three page minimum does not include title page, or references page if needed). I give below the example of some results from a (pretend) research study. In general, the goal of the paper is to explain the statistical tests as though you were trying to help someone unfamiliar with psychological statistics understand why the results mean what they do.
More specifically, you need to:
Interpret the findings – what do they mean in terms of the variables used? Be sure to interpret each of the parameters (i.e., the t value, the p value, the b, the r2, etc.)
Explain the how and the why of your interpretation. (i.e., How can we make the decision to accept or reject the null? How does the process work? Why does r2 mean what it means?) This is your opportunity to demonstrate a depth of understanding and show how the concepts in the class are all connected.
You will be graded based on:
If you interpreted each of the parameters correctly
The accuracy of your explanations
The depth of your explanations—do they show a mastery of the material?
Correct Length
Correct APA formatting
See rubric for more detailed information about grading. Papers must be turned into Canvas by the due date. ONLY doc, docx, or pdf formats will be accepted.

In the following example, researchers were curious about the relation between playing tabletop roleplaying games (i.e., Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, etc.) and engagement in prosocial behavior. Key variables included character alignment (whether the character they played in the game was good or evil), number of hours played in the last two weeks, and the number of hours of service performed in a year.
We had 200 participants return the survey. Of them, 100 played as good characters, and the other 100 played as evil. Hours of play had a mean value of 20 hours, with a standard deviation of 10 hours. The mean number of hours of service in a year was 50 with a standard deviation of 12.
Before testing the linear association between hours of play and hours of service, we ran a t-test to see if players of good and evil characters in the sample differed in their number of hours of service given. An independent sample t-test yielded a significant difference, t(198) = 11.79, p < .001, d = 1.67 with participants who played good characters having a mean of 60 hours of service, and participants who played evil characters having a mean of 40 hours of service. Based on the results of the t-test, we decided to run the regression for good-playing and evil-playing participants separately. For good character players, there was a significant association, with the number of hours played in the last two weeks predicting the number of hours of service in year, b = 1.75, p = .023, r = .44, intercept = 413, p = .002. For good character players, r2 = .19. For evil character players, the regression failed to reach significance, b = .236, p = .322, r = .10, although the intercept was significant (38, p = .003). For evil character players, r2 = .01.
