Before the Post
Understanding the difference between causation and correlation is the cornerstone of research. It is also important to understand research experiments that do not prove causation, but where in fact the hypothesis was proven false. In addition, creating a strong operational definition for variables is imperative to make sure that the hypothesis under investigation can actually be measured. In other words, an operational definition is making the subjective variable(s) objective so it can be seen and thus, measured.
Read Chapter(s) 11-13 from the textbook and the assigned sections.

Review Chapter 6 PowerPoint.
Instructions: 400 Words
Discuss why it is important to publish studies that accepted the null hypothesis (did not find significant data).
Explain why most research studies use the mean to describe data sets, versus the median and mode. Then, discuss why it is important to distinguish between correlation and causation. (Approx. 250 words)
Discuss how you plan to operationally define aggressive behavior and social modeling for this weeks ALA and the Summative Project–the final research proposal and, and then briefly explain why creating an operational definition is important to your research study. (Approx. 150 words)
