Overview of Quantitative Methods
Quantitative methods have been the traditional hallmarks of scientific inquiry. From an early age, we are all aware of the mathematical rigors involved in quantitative analyses. In the discipline of criminal justice, researchers utilize a variety of statistical tools with which to analyze empirical data. The inferences and conclusions that are drawn from such quantitative techniques have provided for empirically-based public policy, increased professionalism in law enforcement, and the development of more effective rehabilitative tools within corrections. Were it not for quantitative methods, much of what we current know about the world of criminal justice would not exist.
After reading the Worrall article and Chapter 8 of Creswells Research Design, identify and discuss the key tenets of quantitative research methods used in research in criminal justice:
What do you see as the most critical aspects of quantitative research methods?
How do these key tenets of quantitative research assist us when evaluating criminal justice data?
How do these key tenets contribute to successfully interpreting published research findings?
How would you apply these tenets to answer a criminal justice research question?

An analysis is an essay in which you examine what an author has said and the strategies he/she used to achieve the purpose. Consider sections A-1 and A-3 of A Writer’s Reference as you write this essay.
Your essay should be at least 2 pages in length, Times New Roman, 12 pt font, double-spaced, MLA format. The essay should maintain 3rd person POV throughout.
Process:
Read and reread the poem as many times as necessary. Prewrite to discover what you believe is the poems most significant meaning and the ways in which that meaning is conveyed.
Use the Poetry Analysis Helper template and the Poetry Terms linked to the assignment to help you explore the elements of the poem and how they function together. This will help you arrive at what you believe is the poems theme(s) or meaning(s). Your Poetry Analysis should discuss some (not all) of the elements that are most significant to your thesis statement.

For Paper 3, youll be creating your own argument. Youll be:
Taking a position on prompt A You’ll lead with this position and then support with two articles.
Supporting that position with two articles from the readings I provided. You cannot use an article found in a general internet search.
Incorporating the two sources. You can use the sources to support your position or as naysayers.
Creating a complete argumentative essay with introduction with: a thesis responding to the prompt, body paragraphs to support (including support from sources), a response to naysayers, and a conclusion.

Topic A: Should employees in office (or other settings if you think it would work) have hybrid schedules where they can work from home part of the week? Why or why not? And what would that schedule look like? Quantitative Design
All research endeavors must, by necessity, progress through a series of logical and meaningful steps. These steps allow a researcher to be confident that the inferences and conclusions reached at the culmination of a project are valid, unbiased, representative, and generalizable.
In Chapter 8 of the text, Creswell identifies six steps critical to the construction of a quantitative research proposal (pp. 162-166). After reading this chapter, discuss the six steps of the critical aspects of data analysis and interpretation identified by Creswell:

People with a personality disorder have unusual ways of thinking about themselves and others (cognitive feature), experiencing and expressing emotions (affective feature), interacting with others (interpersonal feature), and controlling impulses (Kearney & Trull, 2018). Those battling personality disorders have dominant personality behaviors that cause damage to their social, occupational, and everyday lives. Mental health professionals frequently use assessments such as self-report questionnaires, and varying types of interviews and reports when evaluating those suffering from personality disorders.

Advantages of these assessments include reports such as informant reports. In these instances persons, such as the patients friends or family, can provide mental health professionals with a more accurate and detailed account of the patients history and disorder. These can be very helpful to clinicians. Unfortunately, these reports also often conflict with self-reports, and so a clinician may be unsure which perspective is most truthful (Busch et al., 2015). Disadvantages of other assessments include self-report questionnaires and interviews as these rely on the individuals self-report. This is a problem because many people with personality disorders have distorted self-image and self-presentation that can color their answers on these measures (Kearney & Trull, 2018). Essentially, professionals are asking these questions and conducting interviews with patient who struggle with an array of personality complications.
