Course Project: Part 2—Developing a Needs Statement

In Week 1, you described a program for the health problem and identified the right division for the program.

Week 2 Tasks

This week, you will develop a needs statement, which provides factual information for understanding the health problem. A problem statement is one of the most crucial parts of your concept paper. This is the first section your audience will read, and it will set the tone for your proposed program. A well-written problem statement should include the nature of the problem, who the problem affects, the current impact of the problem, and future consequences of the problem, if left unaddressed.

Continuing with the Microsoft Word report you created in W1 Assignment 3, add 2–4 pages to the report covering the following:

Explain the public health problem your program will address using factual information.
Define the public health problem.
Describe the adverse effects of the problem on public health and well-being.
Provide detailed and specific data on the problem and the community in which the project will be implemented.
Explain the anticipated improvements in health outcomes upon successful implementation of the program.

Case Examination

For each case study, you will provide a 250-300 word response to at least two of the questions provided. You will need to support your responses with one scholarly source (peer-reviewed journal article), as well as your course text per case. All citations and references must be in APA (current edition) format. Title page and reference page must be included, as well as all work presented double spaced with headings delineating the case in reference. For each case study, you will provide a 250-300 word response to at least two of the questions provided. Rape Legislation

Caringella discusses the concepts of consent as it has been historically applied to sexual offenses, as well as new reforms and interpretations of what consent is, both affirmative and implied, when and how it is given, and when/how it can be revoked.
After studying the materials for Module 4, compose a paper that discusses the following:
The concepts of consent and voluntariness as it applies to current statutes governing rape (or sexual assault)

Describe the family’s current structure in terms of the boundaries around the family system and among subsystems in the family.

3.1 Structural Intervention
In this discussion question you will return to the MACP Skills Learning Lab and use the case study that you chose in Unit 1 for this discussion. Please address the following topics in the discussion post:

Describe the family’s current structure in terms of the boundaries around the family system and among subsystems in the family.
Discuss what dysfunctional triangles may be present in the family and suggest what function the triangles play.
Examine possible structural changes the family could make that would help them improve their family dynamic. What are the possible structural changes that the family could make that would improve their current dynamics? What would be the rationale for such changes?
Discuss the structural techniques that should be used to accomplish the goals.
How might you take cultural considerations into account in evaluating what, if any, structural changes might be beneficial to any specific couple/family?

3.2. Video Reflections
Please comment on the videos of Structural Family Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy. In each case, what did you think the therapist did well? Did you see any interventions that you could imagine utilizing in your future work as a counsellor? What might you have done differently than the therapist, if working with the same case? How might you elicit client feedback to continually inform the therapeutic process and your intervention choices? How might you evaluate the client-therapist relationship on an ongoing basis?

Daily schedule and Routines review

Assignment: Daily Schedule and Routines Review

The purpose of this assignment is to create and analyze a daily schedule with activity times and routines. If you are already working in a classroom with children, then you will use the schedule of your current workplace as a starting point. If you are not currently working with children, then you will have to arrange a site visit for an observation and you will use the schedule of that program.

Make sure that you have done all of the readings for Module 11.
Wait until after class on March 16 to begin the assignment.
If you have to do a site visit, make sure you do it before you do the rest of the assignment.
Create a daily schedule for an early childhood program that runs from approximately 8:00 to 5:00.

If you are working in a classroom, you should use or modify your own daily schedule. (For the assignment, you will need to create a schedule for a full day program, even if your actual program or work day is not full day.)
If you are visiting a site, you should use or modify the schedule of that program; ask to see a copy of the daily schedule. (For the assignment, you will need to create a schedule for a full day program, even if the site you visit isn’t a full day.)
In your schedule, you need to be sure that these six elements are included: (Note: It is okay if “small group activities” are incorporated into “free choice times”; just be sure you clearly state that.

Free-choice time
Outdoor time
Large Group Activities
Small Group Activities
Routines (including snacks, lunch, and nap time)
Transitions

Make some kind of picture schedule for this. You can use photos, drawings, things you find online, or whatever. There are many examples in the videos within the readings.
In detail, describe one typical activity time (free choice, outdoor, large group, small group) Does this activity time work well for ALL children? If yes, why do you think it works so well? If not, what might you change in order to make it better either for the whole group or for individual children.
In detail describe the steps and procedures of at least one routine (snack time, meal time, nap time, arrival, dismissal). How did children learn these steps or procedures (or how might they have)? Does this routine work smoothly for ALL children? If yes, why do you think it works so well? If not, what might you change in order to make it better, either for the whole group or for individual children?
In detail, describe one transition. Does this transition work smoothly for ALL children? If yes, why? If not, what might you change in order to make it better, either for the whole group or for individual children.
Upload a copy of the schedule, a photograph of your picture schedule and your paper onto Canvas. Make sure you have included all three things!
