Frankl Essay: Second Draft

You are adding on to my first draft of the essay
it is 3 pages long and i need you to add a page and follow instructions
Frankl Essay Draft#2.

You are adding additional content to your Frankl Essay draft #1, and expanding the length of the draft. Your second draft should be a minimum of 4 pages and needs to include:

A an academic-style title that is both creative and descriptive.

A thesis statement providing three reasons why you are arguing what you are arguing as well as which side of the debate you are on. The two sides of the debate are:
Frankl would LIKE the course at Yale
Frankl would DISLIKE the course at Yale

9 body paragraphs (this breaks down to 3 about what the course at Yale does, 3 about whether Frankl would like/dislike the course, and 3 about whether Esfahani-Smith would like/dislike the course).

Remember, every body paragraphs needs to have:
A topic sentence introducing the topic of the paragraph.
2 quotes (minimum). Don’t forget to mention which part of the quoted text is important/helps support your argument, and demonstrate why.
A parenthetical in-text citation following each quote you use.
A conclusion sentence

2 counter-argument paragraphs (these paragraphs go between your last body paragraph supporting your argument and the conclusion paragraph. AKA: body paragraph of support, counter argument #1, counter argument #1, conclusion paragraph). Your counter-argument paragraphs are where you address the fact that this isn’t a cut-and-dried, Apples vs Oranges, 0 or 1 argument–there are nuances and opinions other than your own. In your counter argument paragraphs you need to address the fact that some people would argue the opposite of your position in the debate about whether Frankl would like the course at Yale or not.
In other words, if you are arguing that Frankl would like the course, then your counterargument is where you acknowledge that some people might believe that Frankl would dislike the course.
If you are arguing that Frankl would dislike the course, then you need to acknowledge the fact that some people might believe that Frankl would like the course.
In both cases, you need to provide evidence supporting the view opposite your own, acknowledge why people might think this. Next you:
either refute this claim and show why the perspective opposite your own is misinformed/not entirely correct, or
if it is a strong point, conceded the point, but remind your reader that that is a single point in favor of the perspective opposite your own, and you have just provided several items of evidence to support your point. In other words, there is still more evidence to support your perspetive than that of the opposite side of the debate.

An academic-style conclusion paragraph.

Submit the complete Literature Review section for the research paper you are writing. Please ensure that your Literature Review presents at least five (5) references published within the last five (5) years. Below the Literature Review narrative, provide the complete References list of the sources used in writing the Literature Review. Use APA style (7th Ed.) to enter the references. This section should be well developed.

CRITICAL REASONING PHILOSOPHY

Deconstruct an Individual Opinion

11)Identify one specific opinion –something you feel very strongly about.

12)Where did you get information about this opinion?

13)What convinced you to adopt this opinion?

14)Have you ever formally studied this opinion before?

16) Have you objectively questioned your conclusion about this opinion?

In addition to your main response, you must also post substantive responses to at least two of your classmates’ posts in this thread. Your response should include elements such as follow-up questions, further exploration of topics from the initial post, or requests for further clarification or explanation on some points made by the classmates. Finally, keep in mind that it is important to be respectful to other students, even if they have taken stances that you do not agree with.
Be sure to develop your posts fully. Elaborate as much as you can in all areas. At least one complete paragraph for each initial question and reply. Always cite at least one source in your initial post!

Salient Points Powerpoint

Create a 7-slide (minimum) PowerPoint presentation delineating the three most salient points that you have learned in this course. The purpose of the Salient Points Presentation is for you to review what you have learned so far and identify the most salient points that you have learned in this class. What content from the first four modules do you find most important? Why is it important? How does it affect you or your career?

– A word doc of the four module overviews have been uploaded. Choose three points from those listed.
– A grading rubric and instruction doc has also been uploaded.

Briefly summarize each of them (no more than two paragraphs to summarize each article, cover the information that you took notes on)

Annotated bibliography. I already have the 5 articles and will upload them.

You will need to:

Find 5 articles that interest you (generally on the same topic, or in some way relatedRead them and take notes
What are they researching & why? (topic)
How did they research it? (methods)
What are the Findings?
Briefly summarize each of them (no more than two paragraphs to summarize each article, cover the information that you took notes on)
Conclusion at the end of the paper: Reflect on what you found. Was it what you were looking for? Was it helpful? What would you do differently in researching in the future? Did you find any patterns? Was anything surprising?
Works cited

Paper Setup:

You need to begin your paper introducing your annotated bibliography: What did you start out looking for, what is the basic theme of the articles you found? Next, each article will have 2 paragraphs. At the beginning of each 2 paragraph section you need to bold the title of the article, and then write the summary below. If you would like to put the full citation (that would normally be in the works cited) at the beginning of each 2 paragraph section, you may and then you do not need to do a works cited. Otherwise, at the end of your paper you need to have a works cited, so that I am able to check the legitimacy of each article you chose.
This paper is a 2 page minimum (likely it will be closer to 3-5 pages) and should be Times New Roman Font. Double Spaced. Regular margins. (do not use magazine articles. These MUST be scholarly articles). Refer to the videos I made on how to find academic journal articles.

Native News Analysis

Review and critique an article from one (1) of the following Native news websites (listed below). Only one (1) of the news websites need be used for this response.

https://nativenewsonline.net/https://nativenewsonline.net/
The article is called Washington Tribes, Government Get $550K Settlement to Clean Seattle Superfund Site

Discuss, in detail – and use a proper citation – for the article selected. A minimum 3 – 4 double spaced document should accompany this segment. There is no penalty for work going beyond the minimum written length requirement.

6 Alternative Assessments

In a STEM classroom, the focus is based more on what the students learn through experience rather than just the end result. Assessments are valuable tools used to gauge effectiveness and evaluate progress. Different types of assessment tools are available utilizing technology to help teachers assess students quickly and efficiently.

Part 1: STEM Alternative Assessment

For this assignment, research various assessment tools and choose two STEM-related content standards to include science, technology, engineering, or math.

Use the “Alternative Assessment” template to create an alternative assessment that is project-based or involves creating a digital presentation that students will present. Your assessment must include the assignment specifications, description, and use one form of technology.

Your alternative assessment should include:

Two STEM Standards

Learning Objective(s)

Title, description, and instructions of the alternative assessment

Utilize the “Class Profile” in order to differentiate assessment to meet the diverse learning needs for three different students from Topic 4.

Part 2: Reflection

In 250-500 words, summarize and reflect on the process of creating an alternative assessment in STEM. Why is it important to create alternative assessments that are not paper and pencil tests? Explain the significance of integrating the real-world aspect into an alternative assessment. How does this create relevancy to students?

APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

The literature review should reference a minimum of six academic and sociological sources.

3 peer-reviewed journal articles. These must be from sociological, academic, and professional journals.
1 academic (authored) book: You do not have to read the entire book, but you need to get an idea about what it says to use it as a reference in your literature review.
1 chapter from an academic anthology or reader. This is the edited book.
1 academic Internet site. You must use either a .gov or .edu website. Other types (.com, .net, .org) are not allowed without approval.

Discussion Post – Developing Others

Week 5: Discussion Board

Review, read and watch all of the material for week 5. Post your weekly answer and “take aways” from readings/ videos and text book chapters to the Discussion Board. Use the course concepts and be sure to use APA citations and references when using material.

This week we are focusing on skills for developing others. After watching the video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qD_6yIKXbo of Dr. Paul Hersey (Situational Leadership Model) and reading the chapters, what insights have you gotten from the leadership models and theories that can enhance your own leadership development and help you become better at coaching and developing others?

Goal & Reflection

This assignment has two goals.
First, it gives you the opportunity to accrue credit for all the “behind the scenes” work that went into arriving at polished drafts of your three previous writing assignments.
Second, the portfolio gives you the opportunity to reflect on the work you’ve done and the things you’ve learned about writing this semester.
In pursuit of goal 1, you will submit a series of “process documents” that you have created and compiled throughout the term. You will organize these documents by listing them on a table of contents. Potential process documents include materials such as outlines, workshop notes, false starts, rough drafts, and/or text you cut from the finished products. You may or may not have things like outlines or false starts, but everyone should have workshop notes. Here is a list of some possible process documents:
Workshop notes
E.g. Your notes from the “Why does my writing story need to be written?” workshop
Reading notes (handwritten or typed)
DCA Workflow Doc
Genre Analysis Workflow Doc
Outlines
Mind maps
False starts
A satisfactory portfolio will include at least three process documents. An exemplary portfolio will include four or more process documents.

In pursuit of goal 2, you will craft a piece of reflective writing. This Final Reflection allows you to re-count and reflect on the writing processes you’ve engaged with this semester. This will, of course, be a deeply individualistic piece of writing. However, as you begin drafting this document, you may want to think through and respond to some of these questions:
What have you learned about writing this semester?
How did you interact with the feedback you received in this class?
Where do you see yourself succeeding as a writer?
Were there any approaches to writing that you tried that didn’t seem to work? How did you reorient yourself?
What writing-related knowledge might you need to be reminded of in the future?
What makes writing hard?
What perspectives, techniques, or strategies make it more manageable?
What kinds of goals or priorities will you set for future writing situations?
What are you the most confident about in terms of your own writing?
Your final reflection should be approximately 500 words in length, it should draw upon at least two-course readings, and it should follow APA formatting conventions.
What makes it good? 1.) Demonstrating your writing process through the inclusion of “behind the scenes” documents, 2.) Crafting a cohesive reflection that illustrates self-awareness and writing-related knowledge.
Formatting and Timeline. The portfolio should be organized as a single document (Word or PDF) that bundles a table of contents, the various process documents, and the final reflection. The Final Portfolio is due on our last day of classes, and it is worth 20% of the course grade.
