What can nurses and student nurses do to help at homeless shelters?

You may choose either Option A or Option B.
For Option A: Your resources for this assignment are the two organizations’ websites, Chapter 11 in the text where you will find details of St. Joseph’s House of Hospitality, HopeWorks Facebook page, and any pertinent journal or newspaper articles you find on the topic. You will write a 4-5 page paper, in APA format, with a title page. An abstract is not necessary. A minimum of 4 references is expected. If you do not live in the Albuquerque area, you can use a local shelter for homeless individuals in the place of HopeWorks.
Compare services available at St. Joseph’s House of Hospitality (Pittsburgh) and HopeWorks (formerly St Martin’s in Albuquerque) based on your readings and the organizations’ websites, focusing on, but not limited to healthcare services. Note that St. Joseph’s House of Hospitality comes under the umbrella of Catholic Charities of Pittsburg, but St. Joseph’s does not offer all the services Catholic Charities does. Keep this in mind when you are constructing your comparison table. Do not list all of Catholic Charities services.
Finally, determine which services are lacking at HopeWorks and how those experiencing homelessness might find those services. What can nurses and student nurses do to help at homeless shelters?
For Option B: Your resources are Bending the Arc (documentary available on Netflix), the Partners in Health website (pih.org), and any pertinent journal/newspaper articles or PIH YouTube videos you find on the topic. You will write a 5-6 page paper, in APA format, with a title page. An abstract is not necessary. A minimum of 4 references is expected. The focus of this option is social justice and health care equity. The rubric details specifics that need to be included in this paper.
See the rubrics for specifics. This is a formal paper that requires a properly APA (7th ed)-formatted title page, (no abstract), double-spacing, properly placed page numbers, section headings that correspond with the rubric, citations, and a reference page, etc:

I attached here the rubric PLEASE follow the rubric or I won’t get credit for the assigment.

Respond to each prompt below. (Be sure to ‘copy and paste’ the questions in the same format in your answer or 10 points most likely will be automatically deducted.)

During this time period, doctors believed that syphilis was affected by race.
Infer why you think doctors believed this.
How does this connect with their values and ethics?
How might the racial context during this time period relate to the purpose of the Tuskegee experiment? Explain your reasoning with evidence from the article.
During this study, many believe that medical doctors wanted blacks to die so they could find out what could be discovered from their bodies later regarding Syphilis.
If this is true, what did the medical doctors value at this time?
Why do you believe that human life was not valued?
Early on in the study, autopsies were conducted on black men that had passed from Syphilis. These autopsies verified that the inside of a black man was identical to the inside of a white man. The study continued even with this evidence.
Why do you believe the Tuskegee Experiment continued?
Do you believe this was ethically correct? Why or why not?
The Tuskegee Experiment violated several ethical standards.
Referencing the article, identify and explain at least two ethical issues involved in the Tuskegee study.
What recommendations could you make to the researchers to safeguard the ethical standards for research in the Tuskegee Syphilis Study?
Consider two of the following ethical issues: informed consent; confidentiality; privacy; physical or mental distress; sponsored research; honest disclosure of results; scientific advocacy; protecting vulnerable clients; and withholding treatment for research purposes.
Do you think the study could be done ethically at all? Support your conclusion.
