Moby dick

Moby Dick
It was a long trip back home, the ocean was quiet and calm. too calm. It all started 6 months ago, the year 1720 the year of whaling, thousands of ships and sailors going out to sea trying to make money to support their families back home …Some never returned, but on May 2, 1720 my friends Beau, Darcy, Tom, Will and I got the adventure of our lives. But I wish all my friends made it.
On the 5th of june 1720. My friends & i we’re going to be on the most successful whaling ship in the British Empire and Atlantic ocean. The Executioner was maned by 275 loyal men. Its captain was my uncle.

Sailing has been in my family for generations. Both my uncle and my father were lieutenants in the British navy. My father was the lieutenant of the H.M.S Eagle… and well we all know what happened. My father & my uncle made a deal that if one of them died in action the other one would become a whaler. So that’s what my uncle did.

My mother took the news well but at the latest hour I could still hear her cry. She was a tough young woman, But now she’s a bit slow.

Clinical pearls

Clinical Discussion 4

PEARL: Describe a clinical pearl you have learned from your PRECEPTOR(discuss something nurses and/or doctors can pass down to future doctors and nurses to be competent providers.

Is it supported by controlled data?

Did you find evidence-based literature to support the use of the pearl or is the pearl based on
experience?

UPDATE: Describe a challenging event you have encountered during this semester’s rotation.

Were you hesitant to perform a skill?

Were you embarrassed during a patient interview?

Did you struggle professionally/ethically with how a patient was treated?

Tell us! We’ve all been there! Keep the information about others in the scenario private.

Use general terms such as “a physician, the patient, a person, a family member, a staff member…etc.”

**Definition of Clinical Pearl- small bits of free-standing, clinically relevant information based on

A Standard for Orthodoxy

In our reading this week we saw that the Church faced many theological challenges. So, discuss whether a standard for orthodoxy (right believing) exists in the church today. If so, what is its basis of authority? How does our definition of the church affect our answer to this?

MUST BE BETWEEN 200-300 WORDS

Below is the reading for reference. Its pages 9-76.

Discuss the portrayal of women in one or more of the stories we’ve read so far. Are they flat or round characters? Static or dynamic? To what degree, in your opinion, are the main female characters depicted in stereotypical ways- and do you think the author was fully aware of any gender stereotypes in his or her depictions? Incorporate evidence from the text(s) in your response.

PLEASE READ THE STORIES ATTACHED !!!

Imagine for a moment that someone was going to take all of the stories assigned in weeks 1 and 2 and destroy them forever: no one in future generations could read about these characters, and no one who had read these would ever again remember them. Somehow, though, you had an opportunity to save ONE of these texts from eradication. Which of these stories would you save for future generations, and why? Think specifically about character as you respond.

Do you think that this week’s characters are more to blame for the conflicts and adversities they face, or does the fault lie more greatly in the outside forces affecting them? Pick a side. To answer this question more specifically, imagine for a moment that each of this week’s protagonists were on trial; you can choose to either prosecute or defend each one of them. Which would you prosecute? Which would you defend? Explain.
Swap characters from any two of these week 1-2 stories into the other’s story, in that character’s place. How would either or both of these stories change as a result, and why?
