5 Data-Driven Classroom

It is important for classroom teachers to gather data and analyze it in order to guide decisions for their curriculum and instruction. Technology tools can help to design and implement assessments, gather and organize data, and provide an analysis of the data.

Part 1: Graphic Organizer
For this assignment, research various assessment tools that can be used to support data-driven decision-making. Complete the “Data Driven Classroom” graphic organizer with examples of various formative and summative assessment tools that new teachers can use to track data in the classroom.
At least three of your assessment tools must be technology-based and all assessment tools must be STEM-focused.

Part 2: Reflection
In addition to the graphic organizer, in 250-500 words, summarize, reflect, and include a rationale for the inclusion of data-driven decision making in STEM classrooms and how learning for all students is supported. Explain how you might use your findings in your future professional practice.

Support your findings with a minimum of two scholarly resources.

Machine Learning – Using

This is a Machine Learning reasearch of choosing which “Loss Function” type to be applied on specific dataset atatched in the file here. Briefly to do is choose a loss function type, apply it on the dataset, and show codes and diagram of the results.

Toward Semantic Interoperability

HITECH has defined 3 levels of interoperability (foundational, structural, and semantic). In this assignment, you will explore 2 areas that are crucial for achieving semantic interoperability: standardized nursing languages/terminologies (SNL/SNT) and the standards for transferring clinical and administrative data between organizations (HL7, FHIR, ISO).

Part 1

There are more than 12 standardized terminologies and classification systems recognized in the field of nursing. Each terminology and classification system has its own purpose, structure, and even language. Trying to integrate all these terminologies and classification systems into one EHR has resulted in a major barrier to semantic interoperability.Part 1

In this assignment, you will explore 2 standardized terminologies and classification systems (Note: This is not an all-inclusive list). You will examine the reasons each was created, its intended use, and why each poses a problem when integrating with other terminologies.

Search for recent articles pertaining to standardized nursing terminologies and interoperability.

Select 2 standardized terminologies from the following list:

NIC (Nursing Interventions Classification)
NOC (Nursing Outcomes Classification)
The Omaha System
CCC (Clinical Care Classification System)
PNDS (Introduction to the Perioperative Nursing Data Set)
ICNP (International Classification for Nursing Practice)
NANDA (North American Nursing Diagnosis Association)
Select 2 standardized terminologies from the following list:

For your assignment, you must:

-Identify which component(s) of nursing practice each terminology supports.
-Explain the rationale for each terminology’s development.
-Identify essential characteristics of each terminology, explaining how the characteristics relate to its function.
-Describe any overlaps between the 2 terminologies that may become problematic when integrating into a single system (for example, if the term DOA in one system represents Date of Admission but in another Dead on Arrival; or one uses pressure sores, but another uses pressure ulcers or bed sores or decubitus ulcers, these could all cause conflict with each other).
Explain why these terminologies are both barriers and enablers to
interoperability.
-Explain how the following are being used as a bridge to support semantic interoperability (provide at least 1 example for each):
LOINC (Logical Observation Identifiers, Names, and Codes)
SNOMED-CT (Systematic Nomenclature of Medicine-Clinical Terms)
-Explain why there is a need for the EHR to capture nursing-specific data.

Part 2

Another area of interoperability is a computer system’s ability to speak with other systems using the same language to exchange patient information, test results, images, etc.

Research regulatory requirements and standards that govern the interoperability of data exchange in health information technologies on The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) website.

Explain the following standards:
-Health Level 7 (HL7)
-International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
-Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR)

Explain what each one is and how they are used to facilitate interoperability
(provide at least 1 example for each.).For your assignment, you must:

Discuss why standardization is critical to interoperability.

For this Assignment, you will write one Body Paragraph based on the outlines for either the “Concussion article.

Before you begin:

1: Let me know your thesis. You can state it simply for now.

2: Write and Submit one Body Paragraph.

Be sure to include:

– A clear Topic Sentence that supports your thesis. (option counterargument)

– Evidence (or Illustration) in the form of one or two “quotations” from the text.

– Context for the quotation, who said it? Include MLA Citation.

– 1 – 2 sentence Explanation of the Topic Sentence claim and Evidence.

– A transition sentence that leads us to the next paragraph.

Literary Critique

Literary criticism requires us to engage not only with primary source material (a poem, novel, or play, for example), but also with the discourse (conversation) around that source material. This secondary material may help provide context or offer other interpretations of a text against which our own readings take shape. For this assignment, you will practice finding, reading, and using a work of criticism in your own writing about a text. The primary purpose of the assignment is not to offer your own interpretation of a primary text, but to clearly convey the essence of another writer’s argument.
Find a peer-reviewed essay on one of the texts that we have read in class this semester: the short fiction by Kincaid, Saunders, Davis, Carver, Bambara, Barthelme; or the play by Beckett. You can search for such an essay using the electronic databases available through the UMass Library. Project Muse and JSTOR are repositories for academic journals and you can easily search their holdings by title and author to find critical essays on these texts. Please pick a scholarly essay that focuses on your chosen text, not a review of the story/play, and not one that only addresses the text briefly. (You will find many more essays on Samuel Beckett’s play than the short stories, so you may want to focus your energies in that direction.) Read the essay and summarize its contents in a 2-3 page paper.
This paper should do the following:
-The first paragraph should introduce the main thesis of the essay you have read and show how it relates to its source text.
-Divide the argument of the essay into its major points and devote a paragraph in the main body of your paper to each aspect of the argument or stage in its development.
-At points, you will need to paraphrase the argument of the essay. At other points, you will use quotations from the essay where the phrasing is significant and only those portions that are necessary to your own representation of the argument. Please have at least two quotations in your paper, but do not let quotations take up more than 1/3 of your writing.
– Incorporate quoted passages into your own writing, both stylistically and using proper citation and reference as outlined in the MLA style guide (for an overview see https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/mla_style/mla_style_introduction.html). For more on how to successfully work with quotations in literary analysis, see this helpful website: https://writing.wisc.edu/handbook/assignments/quoliterature/
-In your final paragraph, please reiterate the argument of the larger essay. Please also point toward anything that the essay overlooks or suggest areas for further research or consideration that the essay opens up. Here is a good place for you to bring your own ideas into conversation with the ideas of the author of the essay.

In this lesson, we mentioned how the creation of a dedicated strategic planning office within an organization can help to assist with facilitating strategic plan development processes. Does this seem like a viable option for established organizations? Do you think it would work at your current place of employment or in an organization that you are interested in? What type of message does it send about the organization’s dedication to stability? What are some pros and cons that you can expect from such an undertaking?
