(2) There are different forms that psychotherapy can take such as behavioral, psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Select ONE of the previously named types of psychotherapy and explain how it explains the development of a mental illness and the treatments that it advocates.
(3) Biological (or, biomedical) forms of treatment include psychosurgery, ECT, and the notorious ice pick lobotomy. Select ONE of these and describe its origin and the thinking behind it (i.e. how did it help treat mental illness).
(4) Psychiatric medications (AKA psychotropic medications) are a popular means of treating the symptoms of mental illness. Describe how these medications work generally. Then, select a specific psychotropic medication and relay what it’s used to treat and the mechanism whereby it alleviates symptoms.
