Describe what you see in the artworks that you can name. If you see un-namable shapes or objects (abstract objects), describe their colors, line quality, texture, shadows, variety, etc. Use the elements and principles to help describe what you see like you did in the previous assignments.

Choose TWO works from the LISTEN to the Experts ART Table #3 (Combining Elements and Principals) on the next page and save the images to your desktop so that you can view them bigger. You must select art from this table.
Compose your writing on a separate word document so that you can spell check and correct mistakes. You will be submitting this document as an assignment. Include your two small images on this document.
General length/format requirements: double or 1.5 spacing, 11 or 12 pt font, 1 inch margins, 500-700 words, approximately 2 pages (not including images).
Please use the space you need to give me full, thoughtful answers to the questions. If you are answering everything with 1 sentence, that is way too brief. You are comparing 2 pieces and have twice the questions, so to fully answer all the questions it may take 2 pages. I am more interested in content (fully & thoughtfully answering the questions) then length.
Step 2:
Include the following in your analysis:
Under each image write the following: The title of the work and the artist. (Titles of artworks are capitalized and always italicized or in quotation marks.)
Describe what you see in the artworks that you can name. If you see un-namable shapes or objects (abstract objects), describe their colors, line quality, texture, shadows, variety, etc. Use the elements and principles to help describe what you see like you did in the previous assignments.
Is each work representational, abstract or non-representational?
Which Essential ELEMENT or PRINCIPAL of Art is most obvious to you in each work?
According to the artist or expert talking, what is the meaning of the artwork?
Which ELEMENT or PRINCIPAL of art do you see that the artist uses to help convey that interpretation?
Compare and contrast one ELEMENT or PRINCIPLE in the artworks you chose – how are they similar and different?
What changed in your understanding of each artwork after your observation and analysis?
Include your two small images on this document.
