Five-Paragraph Contrast Essay
Reality Check- Think about three aspects of this semester and what actually happened versus what you wanted to happen or what should have happened. For instance, those aspects should serve as your points of contrast mentioned in your thesis. Example: This semester, my expectations concerning __________________, ________________, and ______________ were not met.
1. In the first part of each body paragraph, explain one of your expectations and why you had that expectation. In the latter part of each body paragraph, explain what actually happened. In the concluding paragraph, put your thoughts and experiences in perspective and briefly discuss your final impression of the semester. 2. The introduction should consist of 5-8 sentences including the thesis. The body paragraphs should include 10-15 sentences. The concluding paragraph should include 5-8 sentences.
