Environmental Impact of Food

Visit BBC’s Food Calculator: https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-46459714
From the dropdown list of food choices on the BBC site, pick 5 food items that you eat regularly. Estimate how often you eat this food item. Calculate and write down the amount of greenhouse gases (kg) emitted due to your personal consumption of this food item yearly.
Then do a bit of research to learn about the environmental impact of this food item. Examples: Where is this food item grown/produced? What contributes most to the environmental impact of this food item (production, fertilizer use, pesticide use, water use, processing, transportation, etc.)? Include at least one reference to an information source used to research the impact of each food item below the table, use in-text citations in the Research column.
In the reflections column, briefly reflect on what you have learned. Suggestions: Surprised? How does it compare to other foods? Changes you could make to reduce the impact of food choices if you so choose.
