Students will select two economic indicators (such as unemployment and crime) of their own choice. Using the scientific approach (defined in the textbook) form a hypothesis, test the information stated in the hypothesis, accept, reject, or modify the hypothesis, and come to some conclusion on the hypothesis. The purpose is to prepare a five-page, typewritten, double-spaced informational paper. The paper will outline and discuss information found in the textbook. Reports must contain a minimum of TWO charts, graphs, and other information to help the student prove their theory. The writing will be graded according to the criteria listed below.
All papers will be graded on the following criteria: organization, clarity of issue, conclusion, quality of subject vocabulary, /quantity of reasons, use of charts and graphs, and formulas.
All assignments will be due and sent to the instructor by the due date. Students should use the APA format in the preparation of all papers. Help with the APA format is available in the writing center, on the internet, or in the college library.
