This requires that you go into some depth about the topics/material we are covering in class. Please introduce your topic. Then discuss what you believe needs to be studied in terms of the topic that could be done using a survey. In this paper you should provide detail on this survey and sketch out a plan for your research. You should make the case for why your survey is necessary and that you are meeting all of the proper standards of research to reach your goals. Also, be sure and discuss the impacts your research could have (hint why is it useful to know these things?)
Things to consider:
1. Please discuss your population. Why have you chosen that population? How does it fit with your topic?
2. Please discuss how you plan to sample the population. Consider how feasible it will be to do this. Consider if you are aiming for external validity. How will you find participants?
3. Are you planning to randomly sample or use some other form of sampling stratified or cluster for example or maybe you will use a convenience sample? Why did you make this choice? What are the benefits and limitations to this choice?
4. Consider ethics in the process. You should do no harm and get consent. How will you deal with these issues? Also, will you provide anonymity to your participants?
5. Will you use a paper, telephone or online survey or both or something else? Why have you made this choice?
6. How and why did you select your variables? Provide explanations for this. Why have you developed the hypotheses you have developed.
7. Will you pretest your survey?
