Research Assignment 1: How to Learn/Study Pharmacology – Worth 30 points
Personally, I have found Pharmacology easier to learn as I have worked with the different drugs and administered the drugs in the hospital setting. In this class, we are learning Pharmacology out of a book and on the internet. For the first week of this course, I want each of you explore ways to make Pharmacology easier to learn. Go onto the internet or into a library and find different ways that people are successfully learning Pharmacology. Talk to your peers that have already completed Pharmacology. What are the different ways or resources that people are using to study Pharmacology? Are people using newer, trending resources with advanced technology or are people relying on the “old-school” methods of studying (study groups, flash cards, readings). Answer these questions with the following directions:
1. Find any resource – book, web page, youtube video, article, medical journal, phone application, etc. that helps students learn/study pharmacology or that speaks about different techniques for studying pharmacology.
2. In 1-2 paragraphs, summarize why you chose this resource and how it will help you and others learn Pharmacology.
3. Write up to 100 words about how you would feel if you failed this course.
4. Write up to 100 words on how you will be successful in this course.
5. Format your 1-2 page paper in APA format. Format a cover page and reference page. Cite your resource in APA format. The paper in total should be no more than 4 pages (1- title page; 1-2 – body of paper; 1- reference page).
6. Submit your paper under the Research Assignment 1 – How to Learn/Study Pharmacology to be graded by me. This portion of the assignment is worth 20 out of the 30 total points.
7. Also, submit your paper to the Forum Discussion Related to How to Learn/Study Pharmacology so other students may read your findings.
8. Respond to at least one peer withing the Forum Discussion. Your response must be substantial with at least 50 words. This portion of the assignment is worth 10 points.
Again, submit the 3-4 page typed document in APA format. Submit as a document. I want you to begin learning how to cite references (resources) in APA. Remember to utilize the SJDC library, both the physical building and/or the online library.
