al. (2019) and by Kotter, J. (2006) and (3) the Alberta Leadership Quality Standard (LQS) to their
understanding on how to create effective responses to change. Participants are NOT expected to summarize the article and books but instead use the key ideas and
concepts, and present a critical discussion on how they would respond to an ‘iceberg’ that they have
identified in their workplace. They are expected to (1) question the concepts in the article and texts (2)
discuss how they can and/or cannot apply these concepts to the ‘iceberg’ that they have identified in
their workplace (3) show how they could respond to it and (4) identify possible strategies that could
help their colleagues see the importance of responding to this ‘iceberg’. Some questions to consider:
*NOTE: You are expected to be ethical in any discussion of workplaces and life settings
1. Describe your ‘iceberg’ in your workplace and its current situation. 2. What were your first responses/reactions and coping strategies in view of this ‘iceberg’? 3. How is this ‘iceberg’ connected or disconnected to student-centered learning? 4. Using what you have read from the texts, how would you respond differently?

5. List possible strategies that you would adopt to help colleagues see the importance of
responding to this ‘iceberg’. Explain your choices. 6. Referring to the LQS, identify the competencies and indicators that you would meet based on
your chosen strategies.
