1) Your research paper should include an introduction to your topic,
including a clear thesis statement explaining your stance on the topic.
This should be approximately one page long.
2) In your research paper, you should develop 3–4 major points that
support your thesis. You will support these points with specific
examples from your research, relevant discussion, and thoughtful
reflection. Each point should be developed by 3–5 paragraphs and take at
least one page.
3) Include research from at least 10 outside sources. These may
include books, journal articles, newspaper articles, and websites.
However, only three sources may come from websites, and they need to be
reputable sites rather than opinion-based blogs.
4) Address two sociological applications. You will describe what
theories apply best to your topic and why. This should be
approximately one page long.
5) Reflect upon and analyze your argument. In this portion of the
paper, you will describe why your topic is important. What does it say
about the society you discussed? What does it suggest for the future?
What types of programs will be helpful in diminishing this type of
delinquency? This should be approximately one page long.
