Your news lead must:
Be one complete sentence of no more than 20 words.
Use only active voice verbs in past tense.
Reflect the most important detail about what happened at the meeting.
Answer the question who-did-what-when? in that order.
Include a time element in the form of a day of the week.
Avoid using a name.
For the Story 2 assignment, you will add to your news lead by writing the body of a news story about your video’s meeting.
Objective: To practice writing the first sentence of a news story in the style of a journalist.
You will write a news lead about what happened at your video’s meeting. Pay careful attention to the notes about each meeting’s video – they include suggestions about the most newsworthy item at each meeting!
