Different observation styles can be beneficial for a variety of reasons… child’s developmental level, physical restrictions, time limits, etc. For assignment #4 on your learning contract you will choose three of the observation styles used for your portfolio and complete them on an infant or toddler. The choice of observations is up to you.
Your paper must describe how the tools worked with the infant/toddler compared to the preschool age child you chose for the portfolio. Where there strengths/drawbacks to the tool with one age over other? Did a tool seem inappropriate for the age you observed? Was there similarities in how you used the tool for both ages?
This paper should be between 4-6 pages and clearly address the two age groups as well as the three different styles of observation you used. References are not required but if used must be clearly documented.
