Hidden Exceptionalities~ they sometimes remain undetected due to lack of observation or the need to address the primary disability. In this case reflection Shannon’s parents had that “gut feeling ” there was more to her emotional and academic needs than a learning disabilities label was addressing. Through perseverance and trust they were finally able to identify Shannon’s needs and place her on a successful path.
