. Locate an article online connected to your major. Or, if you have yet to select a major locate an article on a area of study you find interesting. Share the link in your response.
2. Write at least 4-5 sentences responding to the following questions: What did you learn about this area of study from this article? What did you already know? What, if any, was new information? What are the job possibilities that stem from studying this field?
3. Based on your previous knowledge and what you have recently learned about this area of study write at least 4-5 sentences about the skills you will need to nurture and develop if you were to work in this field. What kinds of courses would one need to take and/or what kind of degree or certificate would one need to earn to be qualified in the careers connected to this major? The Ivy Tech Community College website would be a great resource for this!
Responses can be typed in Microsoft Word and then pasted into the discussion board, or simply type it in the Discussion Board. Click Reply to start your own entry in the discussion board, this is due by Wednesday at midnight. When finished click Post Reply. Make sure you reply to at least two other class members posts by Sunday at midnight. Your replies need to be at least 3-4 sentences in length. For example, indicate whether you agree or disagree with their opinion, have something in common or made a connection to their posting. Replies must be respectful and well thought out. Be sure your peer responses further the discussion in some way and do not just simply state whether you agree or disagree.
