Original folk tale with discussion of folkloric elements

For your final project, please write a five- to seven-page folktale, which must include at
least five folkloric elements and five vampiric elements. For the folkloric events, you can
include (for example) the hero type, the structure of the tale, the use of numbers, the moral of
the tale, and plot structures as discussed by Propp. These must be five separate elements; five
descriptions of the Mora does not count as five elements. For the vampiric elements, you may
discuss (for example) the description of the vampire, the house and surroundings, the powers
of the vampire, how the vampire is killed, and the character types in the tale (Renfield- and
Mina-like characters).
Also, please write a short discussion (one to two pages) in which you point out the
different folkloric and vampiric elements. In this section, explain where you found these
characters (what piece of literature/reading with a citation) and why you selected this element.
Make sure you are clear in your discussion/explanation of the folkloric and vampire elements in
this essay. Each element must contain a specific citation from the class readings. You may not
use outside sources for your explanation essay.
No folktales longer than 10 pages will be accepted.
