Policy Letter to editor (VAWA)

For your discussion post this module, you will write a letter to the editor that relates to your advocacy project. Follow the steps below to research and write your letter.
Choose the newspaper or publication that you want to submit to. This should be a publication that accepts letters to the editor in real life.
Write your letter to the editor.
Post your letter to this discussion board.
In addition to the letter itself, include the link to the publication’s instructions for submitting a letter to the editor. For an example, review the Rapid City Journal Submit a Letter to the Editor page
(Links to an external site.)
. This is Dr. Lane’s hometown newspaper!
If you can’t find the guidelines, include the link to the page within the publication where letters to the editor are published, and use the guidelines outlined on the M6: Lecture page.
(Link will open in new tab.)
You are not required to actually submit your letter to your chosen publication, but you will receive an automatic full credit for the discussion if you do. If you’d like another set of eyes on it before you submit, feel free to email it to the instructor (with two days of lead time for review).
Requirements
Submit your initial post by the due date.
Your initial post should be approximately 200-250 words and should include a clear direction to what publication it is, including a link. If you submit it, include a screenshot of the page showing you submitted or an email from the publication acknowledging submission.
Respond to at least two posts from your classmates by the end of the module.
Responses should be substantive and add to the discussion. Ask the original poster a question, provide an additional resource, or suggest a different approach to the problem. You might also want to suggest another publication where they could submit their letter.
Responses should be 100-200 words.
