Each student is required to write a 7-page paper about one of the protections afforded by the First Amendment. This paper must have a minimum of 5 sources, 3 of which must be U.S. Supreme Court cases. Chapter 5 in your textbook deals with the First Amendment so that would be a great place for you to find your specific topic. You may not write a general paper about the First Amendment as a whole…pick one and only one of the specific rights provided.
The paper must be formatted APA style with the exception of an abstract page…do not write an abstract page. You’ll have a title page (formatted like the example I’ve provided in the Writing Assignment module), 5 pages of text and a reference page.
The Turnitin score must not exceed 15%. You should be able to see your Turnitin score within minutes of submitting your assignment. You may submit your assignment as many times as you like prior to the due date. However, if you wait until the last minute to submit your assignment and it exceeds the 15%, you will not have a chance to resubmit.
